Theoretical question - is the scuderia transmission very different from the 430, and can it be fitted in the 430? i suppose it can't just be software that makes the scuderia shift faster and I'm sure it's not straightforward nor cheap, but just wondering.....

It can be but.... why would you?

You would need to swap the gearbox, the ECU, and the hydraulics. You'd be better off just buying a Scud.

The internals of the Scud box are different. The forks to move the gears have been shaved to make it shift faster.

Yes I'm sure it doesn't make financially sense. Just that to me the strongest aspect of the scud over the standard 430 is the transmission. (not talking about track performance etc, just normal everyday driving)

....such that if one had to replace the gearbox on a standard 430f1 (touch wood!) would it make sense to consider a scuderia gearbox

But you can't. You need the computer and the new hydraulics to make it work. It's not an easy swap.
