    Hello all,

I saw an old thread on the subject, but there was no clear consensus.

If one were to accidentally downshift at redline, would the computer accept the input? If so, has this changed with the F430?

    Thanks in advance....

frankly, I don't think so. Perhaps I am wrong, but I hit the wrong pedal coming down and the transmission would not accept it. You should check with your dealer.

TCU will not allow down shift until the rpm is safe.

You can paddle down as much as you want, the ecu will not let you go into a damaging gear.

Thanks everyone. You've confirmed my suspicion. I know of someone who claims his motor was trashed by an inadvertent downshift near redline. Bet he lost a timing belt instead.
