    Where's the VIN...?

    I know it's stamped on a plate on the steering column behind the steering wheel and that it's stamped into the chassis in the engine bay - usually on the right side - but is it stamped or otherwise noted anywhere else...?

    Okay, so those are the only three places, right...? Steering column, data plate and stamping in the chassis in the engine bay...?

    No other places for the chassis/VIN number. I've seen what I think are assembly numbers stamped in the engine bay on the left side of QVs.

    Must be something else - QVs are far too early for Assembly Numbers...

    I would think so too. They're stamped in the frame where I've indicated below. The area where the numbers appear is rectangular in shape and not painted flat black as is the rest of the engine bay.
