just got my 308 GT4 back from the shop. they worked on the carbs. there were some air leaks, changed gaskets and some rubber stuff; fine tuned it; cleaned them all out, maybe carb kits. but not a complete rebuild.

I suppose it's shouldn't be surprising (especially given how much it cost) but the car seems alittle quicker, especially after 3 or 3.5k rpm; there's alittle actual kick now; almost like a turbo charger and turbo lag. Actually it seems quite a bit quicker after that rpm level. That surprises me because I would have expected a linear increase, not an increase just after 3.5k rpm.

could be the obvious response is "Dah" or "you think?

    Hi Richard,

It is hard to tell what you started with and what you have now. there are a zillion variables, altitude, ignition condition, prior carburetor condition, quality and extent of work done.

I would not expect the engine power to be linear, these are like "tempermntal italian women" not predictable.

When she is happy - enjoy it.

Come on, she is over thirty!!!!

    best,
    chris
