These are actual pix of my '65 Mustang fastback, but significantly different than the present reality. The pic at the Marin headlands is from early '05, when those 10-spoke rims were unusual; dare I say cutting edge. The pix of the engine are from May '12. I was really close to putting that roller cam 307 under the hood when the 400i was released from rewiring jail and took over my hobby car time. Maybe by the end of the year the Stang will be back on the road. But that will require the Ferrari to behave itself and stop going non-op on me, and it has not yet done this for any great length of time.

I've rented a 4000sq ft unit on a nearby industrial estate until my garage at home gets built. I'm trying to generate some revenue by renting car storage space out - if I can get enough coming in every month I'll keep it, if not it'll go when I can move the cars back home.

I was fed up squeezing cars into small rented garages through doors not much wider than the large cars. I managed to impale the back wing of my '53 Cadi on the concrete door frame and that was enough for me !!

I wish the garage at home was going to be this big but sadly it isn't. Mind you it'll be plenty big enough for at least 10 cars so I guess I can't complain.

Sounds like a real First World problem! ;) Would love to see pictures of it, a 10 car garage sounds terrific!

Plans have been drawn up and submitted to the local council for approval. Hopefully shouldn't take too long to get passed but then we're into winter so will probably wait until the spring to start work due to the trauma that diggers and tractors etc would cause to the driveway and rest of the garden when it's wet and boggy.

I have plans but they're too big to scan in - approx dimensions are 60ft long by 30ft wide.

I've waited 53 years to have this garage and now it's almost a reality I'll want to start straight away but will try to let sanity prevail and be patient.

I'll probably fail miserably, start work in the middle of winter and end up with the lunar landscape for a garden.

Yeah, unfortunately that sounds like me all over !!!

Hey Russ, we will have to stop meeting like this.
Is your Esprit FI or carb, turbo or NA? There was a limited edition, maybe Aust only, of the early car with the FI non turbo motor.
I have had my Esprit a few years.
This black thing crept into my garage and decided to stay.

Jesus H Christ - you have revolting taste in cars !!

The 1987 Lotus is a Turbo and is a very rare model. It's no. 004 of 21 made, I believe to commemorate 21 years of Lotus production at the factory. I think 7 were 2-tone red, 7 were 2-tone silver and 7 were 2-tone blue.

This one has done 47,000 miles, had 2 owners, the last since 1987 until I bought it and has been meticulously maintained and (other than a very few minor chips etc) looks and drives like new.

It's for sale through a dealer although I'm half tempted to keep it as these almost never come up for sale.

Lotus Esprit Turbo HC 1987 Limited Edition No. 04 of 21. Very rare low mileage example of this very collectable Esprit. | UK Sports CarsUK Sports Cars

Unfortunately every time I try to take pictures outside it rains so the pix on the website are mediocre at best but will hopefully be updated soon.

Don't you just hate it when black things creep into the garage and decide to stay, I consider all of them daily drivers !

This is an update to a thread I started over 1.5 years ago... The first 2 cars have gone through a thorough re-do from top to bottom, as evidenced from the pics below in comparison to those on the first page of this thread.

As you can now see for yourselves, I have a knack for customizing all my vehicles including my 400i, which remains work in progress... The BMW has a child seat in the rear after removing one of the seats, and the Jaguar is also a daily driver with adequate 4 doors for a child seat as well.

Really? All of a sudden we are the shy type and don't want to share our taste in other cars currently also owned? I know for a fact that, with little exception, most owners of these cars don't drive them daily and hence, have a more utilitarian daily commuter.

    Anyone care to share?

Brian, that is a well balanced drivers car with a genious V6. Did You know they have flat plane crank as the Ferrari V8's ? No V6 sound alike. Absolutly love them. I had a -92 3.0 QV or Potenziata as they called it in Italy. Still miss it :)
