I thought this was amusing. From Sports Car Graphic's "test" of the Ghia 450SS in October 1966:

"Burt Sugarman, owner of Beverly Hills Ghia, is the US importer. He was a bit shocked when the unit he intended to give us for the test and photos came off the plane with a note taped to the seat asking him NOT to give it to any magazine for road test. Apparently Ghia had had their fingers burned by testers trying to compare it to a GT Ferrari, Maserati, etc. and decided they could do without that kind of exposure. So we consented to doing the test without mentioning the performance figures."

The list price of the car was $11,800, plus $600 for the hardtop, plus $700 for air conditioning - VERY spendy at the time!
