Just tried to buy a cylinder head bolt tool from ebay, however upon asking if seller ships to Europe, the answer was in the negative due postal inefficiencies.

Is this so, the US send people up in space.! I guess a padded letter to Europe would be an easier task.:)

I did plenty of Ebaying/shipping out of the US to Israel, Hong Kong, UK, Germany. It's just a matter of the seller not wanting to bother with the additional customs paperwork (which takes maybe 5 minutes) and the complication of possible return issues. I never had any trouble at all but people feel differently...

    !!!!!!!!!.

When you buy parts from Eurospares or Superformance how do they come from Europe to America.?

We are talking about a cylinder bolt tool not the actual cylinder head here.:)

You would be right, if the "terrorism factor" wasn't involved. If the envelope is over 13oz. (letter bomb concerns), it has to be taken to the P.O. Your seller doesn't want to bother. Send me a PM. I can buy one for you and go to the P.O. (I'm retired) and mail it to you. Big deal. I may want some (cheap) souvenir from Malta for my time.

    Thanks FF8929, will do.

After 911, everything seems to have gone hiwire, and common sense is non existant.

As an airline pilot, I go through security channels too. Whilst on duty in UK, British security insisted on taking my hair gel (which I've been using since 15 years old), as the gel might pose a threat to my flight.!!!!!!

Not withstanding my urge to give him a piece of my mind re issue, would I need a gel to go something terrible wrong on the same plane I'm flying.????

The same situation shifted to the postal industry.

Will PM you later as I'm off to Heathrow.

    Cheers to all.
