noticed some posters with high post count...50,000+... what part of the day is spent posting to get to 50,000 did some math with rounding, allocating 1 minute per post, using 8 hours as work day, 5 days per work week ( does not include browsing etc ) 50,000 posts represents: 50% of an 8 hour day or 4 hours a day each day for a year 25% of an 8 hour dya or 2 hours a day each day for 2 years 12.5% of an 8 hour day or 1 hour a day each day for 4 years what's the cost of time for the employee $100 per hour 100,000 $ 10 per hour 10,000 I'm glad I don't have some of these posters on my payroll
knew a guy that posted all day long on the shelby boards. he was a government employee, so yes he was on our payroll....... ed
I don't have 10,000 posts but I own the company so I'm fairly certain I can spend my time however I want.
Um......hey brudda......Mr. Mathematician..... Have you ever thought about SPLIT SCREEN viewports?????? Pretty common, in the financial and engineering industry.....wanna see a fly thru of the International Space Station??? There's also some interesting Productivity Studies, contrasting work environments that rigidly regulate outside access vs. those that allow employees to handle personal errands on the Internet, and then return to focusing 100% on brain surgery or whatever else the task at hand entails. Now go pick up my dry cleaning before they close, will ya????
Checking my stats, it AVERAGES 15 posts per day, but that's misleading as I rarely LogIn on weekends... 'Medium' starch, on the shirts........ And although my 'join date' is 2002, that's actually the inception of the current software. I'm even older than THAT!!!! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Actually, it costs the poster less than you calculated thanks to the reduced employee FICA/Medicare rate (2%). The employer still gets the full 7.65% full insertion.
Posting during work hours cost even an owner time and money. Loss of production and lack of attention to details. That being said you can do whatever you like when you own it. As for BigTex post of 2 screens. That just means you are spending time not paying attention to your task whatever it may be. Your 50k posts are easy to understand. Rarely do you post less than 5-8 posts out of 10 in any thread you are active. That adds up quick.
Sharpening one's snarkery can be a valuable endeavor for an executive. Thusly, the higher you move up the food chain, the more one should post, and the more appropriate it becomes.
Our #1 poster can't post from work because he's 2 miles underground. I think the 3-4 days off a week helps though.
I type at a 50-60 wpm pace. So if I am working and I have my home PC and/or iPod, I can easily fluctuate without any significant downtime. No more than if I took a walk from my desk or whatever. Ask Piper - he'll tell you how fast I can post
Well all you guys have 2 weeks to catch up cause pap is on 2 week holiday. Just thought i'd let you guys know.
