I was doing about 70mph in my BMW 318ti (I always go for the high-end models) and hit a huge pot hole on the road. Obviously they're worse now in the winter, but some roads in Worcester and Hartford are really bad.

What happens if you're not paying attention in your Ferrari and hit one of these things? Is that really bad?

Thats one good reason, besides the salt, that I dont like driving in the winter where there are road features that I cant see.

well, yes, but if during the summer you miss seeing one of these things and slam into one...could you damage the Ferrari?

Yep - delaminate the tire + nuke an alloy. 2K's worth of damage on a CS...

I know where every pothole is between Marblehead and Boston on Rt 1A.

I know that Nick at FoNE lent a Maserati Spyder for one of the car charity events last summer and the guy that picked it up had to phone up 15 mins later having stripped a tire and destroyed a wheel on an MA pothole.

Man - that's what I was afraid of. It's carzy when you see Ferrari's in the city...knowing how the roads are around here. Thanks!

Why I basically just drive my Spyder on roads I am familiar with and know where every pot hole is. Dan do you live in Marblehead? I thought I saw your gorgeous car a couple of times while driving in Marblehead. The roads there and in my town Swampcsott have taken a beating this winter and are probably gonna really suck come spring

Yep - I'm sure you've seen me around - its pretty hard to miss with that big-ole stripe :)

I'm not shy of putting miles on it. nearly 5K since last April and I was in England for 4 months in the summer and haven't driven it much since thanksgiving!
