While trying to remember the name of the Zapp's jalapeno flavor, I ran across this article by noted food blogger Kenji Lopez-Alt on Zapps. https://www.seriouseats.com/2012/09/we-taste-every-flavor-of-zapps-potato-chips.html T
Just stumbled across these at Kroger. Small Dallas company. Really unique chip flavors. Owner is from Nigeria originally and developed these to replicate the spice blends she grew up with. https://youtube.com/shorts/fzwvoaorTHk?feature=share https://greensaharabrands.com The East African barbecue chili chops pack a nice level of heat. Just tried the North African spice blend. Not as spicy as the East African blend, but it's sneaky. At first, they seem tame, but a few seconds later the heat hits you. Not overly hot, but enjoyable level of spice for the North African potato chips...T
Been loving these for the last 18mo…getting them from UK. No salt, so works well if you have issues. great taste. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Great vinegar tang/taste with just the right amount BBQ, not over the top! They come in a "Carolina Blue" style colored bag. You won't be disappointed!!
Image Unavailable, Please Login Ran across these while shopping at Mitsuwa marketplace in DFW. They looked promising from the outside. Sweet first hit, almost fruity, and then a lingering spiciness. Interesting flavor, but I wouldn't classify it as super hot. T
@dustman M&S = Marks & Spencer? Are you ordering directly, via Amazon or some other service? Anything you can recommend with a bit of spice to them? T
I sample while here. Have to wait till end of year to get the wacky but sometimes delicious one off flavors. As for spice, not really this region. Goto HK, China and there’s some heat. I’ll take a look though.
Image Unavailable, Please Login Nice flavor. Would not classify as super hot though. Image Unavailable, Please Login These are hot! But, if you snack responsibly and don't stick a whole mess in your craw at once, the heat is intense but bearable and the other flavors are a very nice complement. T
Just saw these at the store a few days ago. Will try. Was in Hawaii last week, ate at the following restaurant and liked the food, but the homemade chips were incredible. Molokaʻi Sweet Potato Chips. Damn!!! https://www.merrimanshawaii.com/
Culinary update on the ghost chips. They make a great - and crunchy - garnish on a homemade breakfast taco. Image Unavailable, Please Login Finally got a chance to try these. Not very spicy, but tasty. T
Image Unavailable, Please Login Was on a drive with Ferrari friends. Gas station had these intriguing chips. Bought a bag to take home. Nice heat. Not overwhelming. Sweet-ish first taste, spicy finish. Interesting backstory on the company https://www.rapsnacks.net T
I love this thread, wish there were more posts. My bucket list has one item: chip factory tour, eat fresh chips. Is that wrong? Can anyone help make that a reality?!
