So as to speed up production , less involved in making the dash , it has morphed into less leather and smaller parts. Look at the changes 360>430>458>488>296

Virtually no stitching in the 296

Well, thought I saw everything, but nothing like this. After 2 years waiting, my 812GTS finally arrived. Hasn't been 3 months since taking my delivery and now while driving up the drawbridge with 300 miles on the odometer, the car just turned off..........YES..............the whole thing, electronics, steering, engine. Not even hazard lights were turning on as the car rolled up the bridge and got stuck right at the top of it. After nearly getting hit by several flyby cars, I had to open the door to wave for people to go around and avoid getting hit of course.....Nowhere to run or hide on the bridge. Several minutes later, the electronics turned back on, then minutes after that, the car magically turned back on as well. Slowly crawled into the garage, luckily a block away from the bridge and now 2 weeks later since flatbed picked it up, still at the dealership. The only communication received is that Ferrari North America as starting point, recommended replacing the battery, suggesting a bad cell. Heard of nearly everything, but bad battery cell leading to a complete shutdown while driving, is certainly the first. Glad it didn't happen on the highway and at night..... would be tragic.........Not a single email or a courtesy call from Ferrari North America till this day. Complete nonexistence of Client Services on behalf of Ferrari North America.....Dealership cannot do anything without Ferrari North America's authorization ??? What is HAPPENING at Ferrari?

I've been so disappointed with the customer service from Ferrari. I thought that if you bought a more expensive car than Porsche, as an example, that you would be treated better. This is so far from the case. No loaner cars, no concern when things go wrong, no attempt to show that you are valued.

Dealership cannot do anything without written approval from Ferrari North America, where NOBODY seems to be working. I have called personally, left messages and nothing............no call back, zero correspondence from FNA. It is the WORST Client Care experience amongst any luxury brands. Furious is an understatement since it has been over two weeks that my dealership is waiting for a battery replacement authorization on a BRAND NEW 812 GTS...........That is IF it is in fact a defective battery.

Sounds like a loose battery terminal. Including after a time having it come back.

A bad battery could also exhibit these symptoms but it would be very unusual in a new car.

  7. Well, the SF90 has two separate batteries.

So may be two crappy batteries will equal one good battery?

I believe SF90 actually has 3 separate batteries and every dealership has few in their shops for months without having any clue how to fix them. SF90 is way ahead of its time and mechanics are nowhere near ready to handle them.

Got the car back. You are absolutely correct, it was a loose ground ...........They replaced the battery as well while at it. It is insane to learn that a loose ground can cause for the entire car to shut down while driving. Crazier part is that there is no fail safe feature as a secondary backup or warning of any kind to prevent from such an occurrence. Blessed to have escaped what could have been tragic.

Almost 7 years of ownership with 2 aventadors, never had a single battery problem. Yet, my 1 year old brand new 458 battery died while sitting on factory tender after every drive.

Thinking of trading myaventador s roadster for a 488 pista, but bit hesitant. There isn't a ferrari dealership on this island of hawaii. Afraid my car will be stranded with dead battery with no dealer around

I've had my 488GTB since new. Only issue ever has been the battery which has been replaced once. I have had various 'alerts' on startup all of which were solved when ALWAYS keeping the car on the tender. The various computers simply don't like even a slightly low battery voltage (a design issue for sure - shame on Ferrari!). Bob
