Hello! I've jumped across from the 458 side of the forum! Eventually I'm pretty much ready to get myself into an F12 now, I enjoyed my 458 but wanted the better ride quality the F12 offers and noise. So the time is nearly here.... However, I've been offered a Rosso Corsa car....however I'm not a fan of all the plastic outside, the skirts etc and my dealer suggested having them painted Rosso Corsa... Sounds a good idea to me, however I'm just wondering has anyone else done this? I'd be considering all of the black plastic having done the same, has anyone any pictures or this done on an F12, whatever the colour? Also any experience of living with it, I'm mildly concerned the rear tyres would kick stones up and chip the paint, hence why it comes plastic, however there is always the option of wrapping it afterwards.... Thanks in advance!
Kev I have seen a pic somewhere and IMHO it doesnt look right, hence the reason i have gone for a darker colour. Im sure the pics were on here i can almost definately say there are ones in the F12 picture section Cheers H Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Hamish your killing me here! In fairness I would pick a darker colour if I were ordering new, which I may still do....love the deep red's but not paying £18k for a colour. Tempted to get it wrapped a really deep red or grey.... If you come across those pics let me know man, I've searched but alas I cannot find
I would not get them painted. I think it will make the sides look taller and the ratio of side to greenhouse is already close to being too much. I say with a big purchase like this you should get exactly what you want.
Kev , even on google images there is only one a white one , with the chrome grill it is a NO NO, worst case scenario is get it wrapped well these parts , but it does now look good IMHO
Whenever I get my F12, the first thing I am doing is having the front lip spoiler painted to match the color of the car. Which is what Ferrari did with the very first F12's that were made. I don't like them black. I don't know if you can order them that way anymore? Yes/No?
Yeah I know what you mean I really don't like the plastic either, the carbon is really nice but thats just begging to be stone chipped or damaged and at that price I think a small part of me would die inside! I was thinking either a carbon wrap on the basis that if it was damaged its reasonable to fix or body coloured wrap. Hamish - would you mind posting that picture of the white F12, I can't find it anywhere despite googling most combinations of relevant words!
Oh im not good with this taptalk 😀😀😀😀 Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
oh....oh my.....this potentially does change things.... perhaps white isn't the best colour though....i might get my pal to photoshop it first for me.... My other idea was a carbon wrap of all the plastic bits.....just not sure who long it would last with those monster tyres kicking up stones etc at the back but wow that white doesn't work at all your correct!
I have seen it in red too Kev and it didnt work IMHO I couldnt for the life of me find it though Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
White doesn't work on the F12, period. I wouldn't make up your mind from there. Anything can be tweaked if you have confident taste and the time. But don't just get one because it's avail, there are plenty out there.
I'm generally not a fan of white cars, but I had a test drive in a pearlescent white F12 and it looked absolutely stunning, like a very light silver, and with contrasting black interior and carbon trim inside and out. Really suited the car. But not very understated. For me personally I like F12 in most greys, Titanio, Silverstone and Ferro are my favourites.
My 458 was Bianco Italia which i lovec but not the colour for the F12 Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Different parts in body color, I like it more than the black plastic... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thank you very much for posting that, not so sure I'm a fan now. Thats really been helpful though thanks. I might go for gloss black like my GT V8S, it works well on that. Thanks guys
they will paint the front lip....on my bianco italia it is painted marrone as is the rear end...i am prejudiced, but think it looks fine.
you might want to look at my bianco italia f12 in "16 months later" thread....don't think you will hate the white
You can have those parts painted in black gloss, or even a color like Canna di Fucile (gun metal grey). I like the standard look best.
I like the sound of your detailer, I like genuine yes, but I don't like a bad deal and its a bad deal in terms of resale and repair costs if chipped, which where I live it will get chipped!
