Im a coupe guy. Zero interest in the spider. 570 while nice is not a 720.

You can always get one you’ll just have to pay worst case. However, much like the 600LT I don’t think it will be a limited production so they may be more available. Mclaren needs to revenue.

Lots of 600lt available even as spider. I thought would be more limited.
Makes me wonder if 720lt will be in bigger supply. Ala Pista.

Yes lots of 600 available but allocations are done. And now that people realize there will only be like 300 in the country- maybe demand picks up. Who knows.

They are only taking orders for spiders going forward.

Can’t imagine it picks up given the price and how much better a 720 is.

I swung by the dealer today and we spec'd a 720 spider and coupe in that launch color blue with the new wheels in matte. Performance version and some other bits. Orange calipers, seat belts, manual seats in either ball or with the orange stripe. I can probably have it by the end of March. I was leaning hard towards the coupe until we started looking at the pics with my build. Decisions....

They need to fall into an appropriate price range and then perhaps they will level out. $300K is too much but at ~$250K they should move. This might also keep the 720's in the minimum range of 280K+.

I think they will Limited Edition the 7XXLT, but may it high enough to pump out, but low enough to drive demand.

Everyone is waiting on that car and the demand will be there (unlike 600LT).

I think we all told you. McLaren hasn't made a decent F1 car in years, but man are they on a roll with road cars. If my Challenge Stradale wasn't going up in value, there would be no reason for me to keep it.

It's fun being excited about getting a car. I know I was excited for mine and I still am every time I open the garage.

I know yours was a long time coming. Enjoy..... and don't sweat the miles. You can't replace the memories and experiences!

First full day out with her today. I didn't want to stop driving--period.
    Couple of things today:
    - State inspection
    - Ceramic tint

Next week full paint correction and PPF (4 day job).

Ok, so my thought black 720 would be more undercover--NOT. Holy hell the cameras were out, two smoking hot chicks said 'nice car--damn', people whipping necks, 2 people at gas station about lost their mind, lady with here kids strapped in back seat--when I opened door the look on their eyes popped out of their head and started screaming was priceless.

Yep boys, we have ourselves one bad mutha here in the 720. WHOA.

I’ve never had as much attention as I get when I take my 720 out. It literally stops traffic!

The same thing in my 570. Macs just seem to make people smile. In 7 months I have never gotten gas without talking to at least 3 people. Pictures everywhere you go. Definitely not an undercover car. The reactions are way different than Ferrari.

They do get a positive response for some reason. I've also found that people aren't intimated and will come ask you questions or if they can take a picture. Good stuff.

Agree. My Ferrari got the middle finger (and certainly not near as many looks). Lambo got thumbs up and of course looks. McLaren seems to bring out the child in all in a very positive way. It looks like a true super car.

Come on dust we need to get you into a 720 spider (sound you can make happen with Fabspeed, but Sports exhaust isn't bad).

Here is a Novitec exhaust dustman- will take care of the sound issue for you:

From what I can tell it’s similar to the 488?

SoCal owns both so can comment on sound.

720 itself IMHO (having driving 488 many times) is on another level. Starting with looks and going from there...

Asking just sound. Bought a 488, been around 720 flat out and racing.

488 is deeper and more visceral in terms of sound than 720. But my 720 has the sports exhaust and no mods. The modded 720S I’ve heard are better than a 488.

Here is a local owner who got the velocity cats - I believe this was posted earlier in the thread of the car in his garage:

I don’t know- sounds pretty damn good to me.

Dust the sound was the last thing for me as well...I had Performante on order.

In retrospect, I'm pissed I didn't buy this sooner. If you don't like sound change it.

My point is the rest of the 90% of the 720 is THAT good that I don't miss it (and it's not bad to be honest). Again you can make it louder than Lambo if you want.

Let us know what your 720 spider spec looks like ;)

My CS will either get a thumbs up or the middle finger and it's definitely not flashy. It's titanium!

Some of the reactions might have to do with the marque being new and the 'people' haven't screwed it up...... yet. The crew that are buying them now are mostly being them for more than just showing off. They are enthusiasts and not bound by some sort of a status symbol... I hope.

After founding the Desert region of the FCA (along w/3 other guys), there's a reason I have a slogan for the FCA.... "The FCA. You come for the cars and leave because of the people".
