I know one thing...the spider top mech is not covered (at least per my local Ferrari dealer when I asked last week).

I think some of the covered areas are listed on the official ferrari website, so I would suggest you look there...

Yes I have, if i continue to renew for the next 3 years i'll still be ahead on the deal. No major problems however, exhaust manifolds, all 4 front wishbones due to ball joints wearing, 2 mufflers and 5 sets of exhaust brackets. Not all items were officially covered but Ferrari dealt with them anyway.

Power cube is really the full factory warranty and can be extended only if the car is still in factory warranty or in power cube. If you want to add warranty power normal or power train are the only options, the warranty on an approved used Ferrari is power normal which cannot be upgraded to power cube.

Power normal covers the big things, engine, gearbox, F1 actuator, diff etc etc

It's been worth it for me.

    John.

I worked the Power warranty into the deal when I bought my pre-owned 430 (the car still had a year and a half of new car warranty at the time of purchase). The only issue was, the Power warranty could not be attached to the car until 60 days before the new car warranty was up. The dealer supposedly did not know this, or didn't tell me, when I bought the car. I assumed (and was told by the salesman) the warranty would be attached soon after purchase. Bottom line, the dealer held the additional money I allowed for the Power warranty for nearly a year and a half until the car was eligible. The only benefit was that I paid significantly less for it (retail price is about $4K). Fwiw, during the time when the service manager was unsuccessfully trying to attach the Power warranty (this went on for months after purchase, I must have called him ten times), he told me he found out that only the Power Cube warranty could be attached at any time during the new car warranty.

I did make use of the warranty, but I didn't get back what I paid for it, much less come out ahead. A faulty HVAC ECU was replaced under the Power warranty. I estimate the repair at about a grand parts and labor (costs were not included on the service invoice). Still, I had some added peace of mind for the year I had the warranty, so it was worth the extra few dollars.

Regarding the OP's question...the Power Cube is basically an extension of the new car warranty, while the Power covers the powertrain and many of the other major systems, IIRC.

I put the power cube on my 430 when the manufacturers warranty ran out at the end of 08, it's not just the cost of the warranty which was over 5K, you also have to pay for a service/inspection which comes to around 2K. I thought that it was pricey but spin a bearing and you could be out 50K plus. I just took it as a consequence of Ferrari ownership, that along with the 3+K a year for license in California.
My Scuderia will drop out of warranty in March and I'll definitely buy the Power Cube then, I've found on my 430 that my local dealer would really help me with everything, I had a leaking water pump, a wheel bearing, no questions asked they just did it...but then Gino Potter and Ferrari of San Francisco are fabulous. The service manager John, has gone to work with Evan Shone, he was such a fantastic guy, I thought I'd do a belt change on my 17K mile 308 GTS Carb car, when I got stuck half way through he came to my house in his spare time and showed me where I'd gone wrong.. My feeling is that it's not just a great insurance policy, it's all part of building a relationship with your dealer

Try the PowerForgetIt if you have a good car and the original warranty wears out. Save your money for what comes up.

The Ferrari brand has long been synonymous with power, thanks to the superior performance and cutting edge technologies offered by its cars. However, this power has never compromised in any way the class, styling and elegance of the brand. The result is a unique image, instantly recognisable the world over.

To further enhance this image and as a testament to the reliability of the brand, Ferrari recently relaunched its POWER warranty (Warranty for pre-owned cars). A warranty created to meet the needs of owners who want a warranty for their car that extends beyond the standard period covered by the manufacturer's warranty.

    Power Cube
    8 CYL £3,781 12 CYL £5,101

    Power Normal
    8 CYL £2,821 12 CYL£3,421

    Power Train
    8 CYL £2,101 12 CYL£2,821

    ADVANTAGES:

    Warranty:
A selection of warranties that means your car can be covered for up to 10 years; Spares and repairs are covered and all work will be carried out by the professional factory trained technicians.

    Pre-owned
Another plus if you choose to sell on your car; The vehicle remains under warranty even if it changes ownership.

You can travel all over Europe in complete tranquillity, thanks to the 24h/7d Roadside Assistance Service that comes as part of the warranty.

    REQUIREMENTS:

The car must undergo an inspection by Ferrari to certify its conformity (The car must carry a full service history and had all extraordinary service requirements carried out by Ferrari's Official Network; conformity of car to type approval requirements as specified by manufacturer. The coverage applies only to cars with a maximum entry mileage of 56,000 miles 90,000 km). All you need to do to sign up for the warranty is call the Service Department and book your inspection.

POWER CUBE: the fourth and/or fifth year warranty
POWER CUBE is a full warranty that offers a near equivalent coverage as the manufacturer's warranty; It lasts one year and can be extended for a further year and can be purchased up to the cars 5th birthday.

POWER NORMAL: the sixth year warranty
POWER NORMAL is a warranty that can be purchased in the 5th and 6th year of the cars life. It covers the main areas of the car: engine, transmission and electrics.

POWER TRAIN: the 10th year warranty
This warranty only covers the engine, gearbox and some associated components and is available for cars between seven and nine years old. Power Train aims to cover the car as it covers more mileage and gets older.

Note: The Ferrari Power Warranty Programme applies only to Ferrari cars with Warranty commencement dates of nine years or under, excluding special and limited edition series (the F50 and Enzo Ferrari). Ask for more details regarding Super America and the special roof cover.

For more information and to purchase your Ferrari POWER Warranty, please contact Ferrari and ask to speak to the Service Department who will be delighted to assist you.

Superamerica Warranty costs £4,621.00 (Power Normal - roof included in cover).

Please also remember that all new Ferrari’s (UK) come with a three-year manufacturer's warranty and one year Power Cube as standard.
