    Ok, I'll admit it, go ahead and laugh now .... I just removed the drivers side door panel and splat... the little pieces from the mirror controller fell nicely to the floor.
    I think I found them all (spring,brass button...), but how the heck do you put it back
    together, and what the sequence for re-assembly of the panel to the door ???

    Go to fLEbAy, get one from a 1980's BMW.
    Somewhere like,,,,, $ 25.00 used,, to $75.00 for New in Box...

    You were supposed to pop the switch out first. Then, pull the panel.
    ;)
