I would also be interested in anyone's experience with these since I have been contemplating this upgrade for awhile.

I have them in my 348, and they work very well. I am biased, since I sell them here in the United States as the agent for the original creator, Frazier Smith. But I will be perfectly honest... I bought them from Fraizer simply to use in my own car. When I saw how good they worked, I contacted him about purchasing a case of them for resale. That's how impressed I was.

How quick are these. My windows go up in 6-7 sec's and go down maybe in 5-6 sec's. Does this give the normal 3-4 sec that you get on today's cars? Just want to see how much improvement you can get. Can someone please put a stop watch on this. Thanks.

6-7 is pretty good... you might shave a second or two from that, but not much. These are really for the folks with terrible windows (like my 348) which take 12-15 seconds to go up --- and never reach the top of the track! With the boosters, my windows go up in about 8 seconds and fully close.

Let me ask a couple or three more -

    a) -how exactly does this work? New motor, new gear or other parts, or some kind of voltage booster?

    b) -is there one for the early or late Testarossa (86 in my case)?

    c) -how much would the parts and installation generally cost?

I have taken to parking in the most unused visitors lot here at the office when I drive it to work just to avoid running the drivers side up and down at the security card gate...it just seems like something that runs that slow might be kind of ready to go out on me. Like one of the guys said at the Sunday coffee last week, you are sure not going to catch a hijackers hand in the window of a Ferrari, like they show the ladies do it in a Buick!

    Thanks...

they create a couple of relays to shorten the ground whether the window is going up or down. they should help your car. I have read many reviews, all positive. The install is pretty simple, just take the door panel cover off, do a couple wire swaps, splices, and voila, you're done!

I have them and I like them. They made a very noticeable difference in my Mondial. My windows barely moved in my Mondial. After cleaning out all the old grease, they moved, but were about 10 - 12 seconds to roll-up. With the window accelerators, I'm around 6 seconds from full down to roll-up.

After studying the instructions with the device, I elected to splice in parallel the device (instead of cutting and using butt-splice connectors to re-attach the wires. Seems to be working very well.

Remember guys, the slow windows are the result of the original grease in the motor and gears hardining over the years into something resembling cured epoxy. The real solution is to strip it down and fix the underlying problem, not to throw more volts or amps at it. There was a super thread on how to do this from Vereil a few years ago which I printed out - search the archives!

Not always the case. There are also many threads where people have done everything, cleaned the grears, lubed the wheels and tracks and cleaned up the switches...and only made a moderate amount of difference.

I'm sure this is the case in many instances but in my car (1975 GT4) the drivers door window barely moves and the passenger side goes up very quickly. Surely the 32 year old grease has aged the same in the two doors...so why the difference? It has to be something else causing this and not just the grease. This is my fall project. I'll start with the switches. Swapping first then cleaning the contacts then checking all grounds.

I took my window motors and gear boxes completely apart, even installed new motors with little effect. It's more a voltage issue (maybe amperage too) than a jamming up one. THe black boxes made a significant improvement, and don't take a huge effort to install.

I have a thread in the 206/246 Forum about it somewhere.
