The windows on my 81 308 stop & go.
They were always slow but now getting worse.
What's the fix & what should it cost?
    Thanks.

It could be bad alignment. It could be incorrect tension on the cable. More likely it is the grease in the gearbox getting stickier. Th fix is to remove, rebuild and retension. They will not be fast after that but they should work. If you want fast then you should run a dedicated 12v and ground wire into the door and fit relays.

No idea on cost as I did mine myself.

Could be fuseboxes need replacing. Could be dirty switch contacts and dirty connector contacts.

More than likely it is most or all of the above (mine and dflett's) combined. One of them will be the big contributor, but they all will contribute.

I had this problem with my ex-308 ages ago. The problem is that everything moving inside your door is old and cruddy and providing too much resistance to the motor powering the window moving down and especially up. The solution is to take off the door panel and clean and lube everything.

I wrote a procedure for doing this that was published by the FCA. If you search my name (John Ratto) on line you may find it. It was (I beleive) titled Reluctant 308 Power Windows - you might try searching that if name doesn't work.

The bad news is that it it a lot of easy but time consuming work. The good news is that it is pretty easy - with my brilliant instructions to follow LOL - and costs pretty much zero.

If the operating system, including its electrical components, regulator assemblies, glass channel & frame designs are anything like on earlier cars (Daytona for example) one can easily spend dozens of hours (=days ?) properly servicing & repairing the now 30+ year components, which may not only suffered from years or decades of deferred maintenance, but also require corrections of caused by several manufacturing "deficiencies" created when the car was made.
