I would be most grateful if someone would be kind enough to let me know what the overall powertrain length is for any of the 360/430/458, etc. family. What I specifically need is the longitudinal dimension from the rear of the firewall to the centre of the rear axle.

I need to know this because I'm considering doing a transplant, and don't know whether what I'd like to do is possible. I'd rather not say much more yet because, well, this is the internet...

Maybe a quick sketch, so we can see exactly what measurement you are referring to here?

In the 360 and 458 owner's manuals, they show some wheel base figures. Maybe you could make an approximation from those, unless you need an exact figure?

34.5 inches from the inspection panel to the centre of the axle shaft.

Thank you for the suggestion, Ray but it appears that I now have the info I need!

Thank you so much - anything less than just over 35 inches (900 cm) means that my idea is possible (note, I didn't say 'sensible'... ).

I don't know what (if any) variations in length there are between models - could you therefore please tell me which one the info refers to?

By that I assume you mean a 360 Coupe? Either way, many thanks for taking the time to answer me! :)

Many thanks for the confirmation! Do you happen to know if all those in the family have the same length powertrain? The reason I ask is because there's two inches difference in the wheelbase between the 360 and the 458!
