The 348 is pretty low. Do you get a lot of rock chips in the front? Is it worth getting PPF wrap for the front?

I’m scared to put ppf on ancient Italian paint, but I plan to have the front lip repainted and when that is done I will ppf it.

Another option would be a non permeant solution like “track wrap” which I don’t think is as sticky.

I have more respect for a peppered front end and we'll driven Ferrari. In 2035 when ICE is illegal we can all repaint our Ferraris and put them in our living rooms as conversation pieces. I say drive in good health!

    And I agree, FBB.

Steve, you're going to get chips on the front of your 348 when you drive. You'll get chips on the sides too. And on your windshield.

This road rash is what my 550 collected during the first 60,000 miles of its life...

Impressive, huh? But the front was resprayed and now I'm collecting new road rash. When the time comes, it will get resprayed again. But look closely at the driving light. It was cracked and had to get replaced..

There are threads on this board that describe what you can do to protect your fog light assemblies. Concentrate on doing that. Replacements are difficult to find.

    Barry,

I would be proud to drive that Maranello without the respray. You earned those rock chips!

Before there was Tracwrap there was blue tape...

The fellow next to me at Daytona was concerned about getting chips on his windshield. I told him to put blue tape on that too. :)

Xpel 10mil film is what I would recommend and will be installed on my 355. Be sure to do the front bumper, hood, windshield surround, mirrors, and rockers. I have 10mil on the front half and rockers of my 458 and the standard 8mil on the rest of the car. If you can stomach the price, full-body PPF is the way to go. If you have a fresh windshield, I would suggest doing ClearPlex as it will also keep UV rays off of the dash
