I would recommend Tim Stanford in Ft. Lauderdale. I am not sure how "up" he is on the newer cars, though. I have been out of West Palm for too long now, but I hear there is someone in Jupirter too.

Tim Stanford is great but doesn't have the SD-2 computer to check out the 360's. He often uses Christian Fraga of Black Horse Performance in Oakland Park. Christian is a super nice guy with lots of 360 experience (worked at Shelton for years and now has his own shop). He will do a PPI without screwing you. 561-271-3968

I'm interested in exactly the same thing as I am looking at a car that is currently at Palm Beach Ferrari. It is a Red 2008 F430 Spider:

The most striking thing about this car is the wing. Ordinarily I wouldn't consider a car with an aftermarket wing, but it has all the other options that I want and seems to be in good condition. Has anyone taken a look at this car? If so, what are your thoughts?

And I'll post the question again -- where to go for a PPI in Palm Beach? Sounds like Black Horse Performance, Palm Beach Performance, and the mysterious 561-743-6441 have the staff and equipment to do a thorough PPI. Despite newer car and reasonable mileage, it has been recommended to me to still do a compression/leakdown. Of these recommendations, is there any one of them that might be considered more thorough and critical with an anal-retentive attention to detail? Would need a car looked at probably early next week.

P.S. Does anyone know the owner of this car? According to the salesman it is a local car purchased by a serial Ferrari owner who is trading this car in on a 458.

I saw the car last week that you are looking at. I was talking with Bud Root and saw it in the showroom. It looked nice at first glance, I didn't get too on top of it. My buddy drives by there on his way home if you would like to have someone look at it again. I was not 100% in love with the wing personally. I guess if you like that thing, it would be fine. Paint seemed to match, car didn't look abused.

 

Clearly the wing is what makes the car a hard sell. But it does have just about everything else I want in the car -- from polished rims to contrasting seats/interior, to carbon fiber everywhere inside.

But the wing is something else entirely.

As of today, the car had a deposit on it pending inspection by an out-of-state purchaser on Friday. I'll find out Friday if it is not sold and if that is the case, I will try to get someone to take a closer look at it for possible purchase next week.

I had Ryan Noble (R S Imports) do the PPI and some additional work on a 360 I purchased in December. Ryan was great, his prices were very fair, and he went the extra mile to help me out (especially nice when I was all the way across the country part of the time). Everyone in the shop/office was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. If I lived in the area I'd definitely use his shop in the future.
