Don't know your guy, but I've been burned by someone after the same exchange. Be wary - do your homework! My "mechanic" (I use this term loosely) in Indiana came off as a nice guy after a few phone calls, emails, and even talking with the previous owner of my car... ...he then proceeded to take my money, give me a fake PPI, do some fake repairs on the car, and shipped the car off as it came from the previous owner's garage. I didn't know I was dealing with a criminal until I talked with other mechanics in the area. That's who you might want to consult...
