I have negotiated a deal on a 07 430 spider with one owner and 2031 miles. It is a reputable non-F dealer and car has 13 months of factory warranty left. Should I still do a PPI? All campaigns are up to date.

    Also posted in 360/430 forum.

I didn't bother when I bought my M5 used but it had a few years of Warranty + Maintenance remaining.

For a F-car, it's a small price to pay in comparison to what you'll shell out for the car itself and will bring you some peace of mind.

PPI money would be well spent to at least identify any and all issues that can be addressed while the car is still under warranty.

I highly recomend you do it at the Dealership and get clarification. Technically that warrenty may only apply to Certified Dealer sales. Plus when they know you are buying a car outside the dealership you will find out what their best deal on one is.

yes, you should still do a PPI. It is better to be kicking yourself because you wasted $500 then kicking yourself because you didn't.

Factory warranty is good no matter WHO sells the car.

However, the biggest issues that would be addressed in a PPI wouldn't be warranty, i.e. clutch and cosmetic items.

When I bought mine I did not do a PPI,but the guy upstairs sometimes protects fools. Have no regrets and thankfully no issues, but I certainly would advise you to get a PPI. A PPI at the time for me was foreign , was not a member of F-chat and bought my 5th Ferrari totally blind.

Get a copy of service records from your F dealer. A relationship will help there. Sit down and piece things together i.e. a lot of issues? Inspect the car for paint work, excessive wear etc. Make sure the car hasn't been raided for tools, cover etc. Based on all that you should be good to go with the safety net of warranty still in place. Good luck.

I like to get any used vehicle in the air to see if the underbelly has been smashed. You can tell a lot about a car from the underside. This would just be an abuse check.
