What kind of inspection does PPI cover? Will PPI inspect for re-paint?
Different entities have different guidelines for what is and is not performed during a pre-purchase inspection. Some places even have multi-tier inspections from which you can choose. A $200 paint meter will allow you gauge whether or not a car has been repainted; if the car is not local to you, then you can request that service be included in the PPI. The two most important parts of a PPI are the compression and leakdown tests. Without the results of these two tests, the PPI is worthless.
