Do all 308s have the prancing horse on the front (lower) grill?? Mine doesn't and I am wondering if it's missing or never had it. thanks, etip
the 308QV came with the horsie. and i belive the later 308 euro cars did as well. the horsie is not correct on carb 308's , as far as i know. but i put one on mine anyway. ps i made sheetmetal clips and safety wired the horse to the grill to keep from doing anything that cannot be undone later. cheers, michael
I think only the euros got them. My 84 US QV did not. I guess with the US bumper it isn't a good fit??? I added one to mine when I added the GT valance and euro GTO bumper.
US QV's do NOT have the cavallino rampante on the front. In fact, I don't think any US 308s had the horse...I believe the Euro's are the only versions with the horse. US bumper makes it impracticle...can't see it if it's there.
I beg to differ... my QV still has the USA bumpers but I added the horse and changed out the turn/parking lenses to euro style, and I think it looks GREAT. The car in front of you certainly sees it coming in their rear-view mirror!
Can I have your orange lenses? They are getting hard to find, for some reason, the US ones........ I shattered both of mine, in the gravel run off in Yosemite..........
I paid $100 for the euro ones; you can have my all amber ones for the same price plus shipping. If interested, PM or email me. Mike
The euro bumper is straight across, with the lines of a simple rectangle... the USA bumper is beefier with thicker areas that extend downwards, with lines like this ---------------------------------------------- . ---------\____/---------------\____/---------- That's the front view. The bumpers also extend outwards from the body more in a side view (they are designed to meet the 5mph collision protection standard).
My former US 308 QV did not come with a horse, the Euro cars came with the horse, they had a larger grill since they had a smaller less protruding bumper
