    Hello,

    I will maybe be proposed a pre 88.5 Testarossa (84 or 85).

But I see everywhere that people are looking for post 88.5 Testarossa.

I was not able to find a thread with the reasons why. So my questions simply is "what is the problem with pre 88.5" ?.

The car is 15k km, I know it/her for years. Definitelly needs a revision including belts. What could be the price on these basis ?

    Thank you for your help.

I'm not sure about the mechanical aspects, but in 88-1/2 the TR went from knock-offs to 5-bolt wheels, also two side-view mirrors (at the base of the A-pillars), and generally nicer, better-padded interior leather upholstery.

My main concern would be the wheels. If you are planning on changing / uprgrading the wheels you have more options with post 88.5. There are many more 5 lugs than single knock off wheels.

    Thanks.

The wheel problem is probably the same than my 412 also known as : TRX problem !

Is there a way to change them ?

And what about the price of that kind of model ?

I have an 86 but not with the TRX tires. The 16 inch is nice, but an upgraded one on the one bolt you can also go chrome, its not bad, personally like the orginal look of th ecar. If your concerned, just make sure all records are upto date, and it has nice ownership. You will find that some 86s maybe in better working order, and loved for, than some 90s. Im the 3rd owner on my car, andi had it for 7 yrs, then guy before me had it 10....suffice to say a carfax and PPI and books and records will illustrate a loved car, as opposed ot a project car.
    Good luck !
