Did anyone else try and DVR the race and not get the pre race recorded?
Not quite sure what you're asking? The pre-race is a different show and hence the DVR needs to be told to grab it. Also always worth adding at least an hour at the end of pretty much any live event IME. Cheers, Ian
Yeah I didn't get it either. Was pretty surprised when I pressed play and they were on the parade lap!
Yea, I got caught by this one as well. I have my DVR set to start 5 minutes early and 2 hours late for ending for the F1 races.
I have DirecTV, and I set it to record manually as it would not let me put a season pass on the pre-race show. I suppose I should just have the race recording start 30 minutes early and not have to worry about it...
Not sure what show you mean. My system starts the race broadcast thirty min before the actual start automatically.
Probably not the answer you're looking for, but if you're patient, wait until a couple hours after the race is over and download the SkySports broadcast in HD from your favorite torrent site. It's MUCH better than the circus on NBC. I've been doing this since the beginning of the season and find myself enjoying F1 a lot more now that I don't have to hear Steve Matchett's blathering nonsense and David Hobbs' rigamarole mumbling. EDIT: Forgot to mention, I'll tolerate Diffey. So glad Varsha only steps-in when Diffey's under obligation for something else. Bob's such a colossal blowhard, I tried watching qualifying for one of the first races until he started playing a trivia game with himself wherein he called out every driver based on their 3-letter acronym on the left side of the screen. I'm sure he basks in his own brilliance every time he comes off the mic.
Post race is also a separate show on Cablevision. I have to record three events to get an F1 race now. Its a small price to pay for a better broadcast than Speed IMO. If Diffey would only stop yelling (he must have graduated from the Ralph Shaheen school of broadcasting) it would be much better.
I always add an hour or two to the race recording in case of delay, so I get the wrap up in the same recording.
I have Time Warner and have to record 3 shows - F1 Pre Race, Formula 1 Racing and F1 Extra (half hour show after the race) - then I add 15 minutes to the end of F1 extra in case the race runs a little longer than expected - that usually gets me everything.
Absolutely, a much longer and more diverse pre race show and very interesting post race interviews in pit lane and NO commercial breaks! Win win. I think Diffey is related to to DD with his "This is it!" squeals........
