Today, Sam, Wilson and the crew of Premier Mobile Aesthetics, installed a custom clear bra kit on a Lamborghini for a good client of mine in Danville. I am continually impressed with how good a job these guys do. Makes me look good to recommend them to all my clients who want this protection.

Thanks for the pics. I've often wondered how wide the sheets of film are and I think you have shown me.

One think I don't understand it why most installers don't cover the hood with film instead of going only half way up and leaving a noticeable line. Looks like the film comes in wide enough strips to cover the whole panel with one piece.

Anyway, it seems to be a great product. :)

There are a few reasons why. The biggest is the cost of the film. Most people wont pay $650. to do their car with a standard pre-cut kit. I can tell you that doing entire hoods and fenders plus bumper is probably double that.

When it comes to exotics that is when pricing comes 2nd to quality of installations. There are companies out there that would show you pics of a car from afar and in fact, some would show you pics of cars that's taken off the streets!

Installers who work on exotics on a daily basis realize that cost, again, is 2nd to quality. For the Diablo in the pics, we covered the full hood, full fenders...........which originally had a bad install on it........the bumper's fine so we left that alone. Cost of this installation ran a little over $1000.

I too have never seen that done, I had a friend who did his NSX with it and he did his whole car practicaly. front, carbon hood, fenders, side skerts, and bottom part of the Bumper. It was a JGTC Wide body kit so he thought that besides the protection it will help the paint (which not to mention was 20K alone, +++16K for for the body kit)
I am getting a SV this year spring and am looking forward to the clear bra for protection, how long do they last and what problems have arisen in the past!!!! JUST DOIN MY HOMEWORK, and I cheat CAUSE YOU GUYS ALWAYS HAVE THE ANSWERS!

I couldnt agree more. I treat every car as if its an exotic. I just wish most consumers did a little more research with PPF and realize that cheaper isnt usually the way to go.

My installer does a first class job every time and it doesn't cost me more than $550 average. Of course thats my price.

Is this guy in Orlando? I'm over in Tampa and will be repainting the front end of my 355 in February. Would be interested in doing a full custom job like this as opposed to the generic templates that leave visible edges all over the place.

^ Yes he is in Orlando, he does good prices for me because he does all my cars and he is in my circle of car nut friends. For something custom I'll need to find out, but he charges a lot more to dealers and clients that he doesn't know.

Is the type of film they use. Sure, there companies out there that can do it for much less but, usually the film they use are of lessor quality which result to peeling, bubbling, or hazing of the film. 3M is good and so is Venture, although I've seen Venture haze before. 3M just came out with their new and improve film that does not carry the orange peel look, just be careful on which film you use as some of it can be garbage.

I've heard a lot of 3m dealers say this in several forums,...but from the looks of the new 3m film on my neighbors new Porsche, the film is an improvement from the previous, but it still has more orange peel texture than the other films....despite what some might tell you.

Having used several different clear bra installers before, and then having Premier redo the installations from these other installers,...I've learned one critical thing about this whole clear bra thing: the most important part of the whole process is the skill of the installer. With Premier's installations, they are the only ones I've seen make it as clear, seamless, and invisible. That's why they have such a rep among us exotic owners.

    BTW..great pics Bob...and beautiful car.

I've heard nothing but, good things from premier and you're right about having a very good installer as this is crucial for having the job well done. However, I've actually seen the difference between the old 3M and the new one and I can tell you that there is definitely no orange peel to it.

Saying that there is "no orange peel" is an inaccurate assessment. We have used and tested the new 3M film and there is still an orange peel texture to it.......just not as pronounced as it was before. We did have some issues with the new 3Mfilm's adhesive pulling off during realignment of the kits. Hopefully, it is isolated to these few rolls.
