    Hello:

I am looking to downsize the number of cars I have and in regards to Ferraris I am considering trading in the 6 speed 355 Spider and 550 + $ toward a 360 Challenge Stradale.

I currently drive each car 4K to 5K miles a year primarily on the weekends.

The main issues I'm concerned with are that the Stradale may be a bit more "raw" than my present cars; and that the Stradale will have greater depreciation based on 8K+/- miles a year (BTW the 360 line hasn't lost as much value as many anticipated with the arrival of the 430 line so if Ferrari comes out with a 430 Challenge Stradale I assume it won't affect the 360 CS values that greatly).

Any insight of personal experiances are appreciated!

    Thanks, David

A few months ago I sold my 360CS and decided to keep my 550. I wish I could get my hands on a 355 but there aint many in mexico.

The reason I sold the CS is simple and painful, and by painful I do mean fisicaly painful, it gave me cronic lower back pain. a week after I bought it my lower back began to hurt really bad, I blamed it on my kids and on many possible things. It reached a point where i needed help to get out of the car (I'm 32 years old BTW) and my wife simply said "take another car" guess what? a week later, no more back pain. jumped into the CS and HELLO! more pain. Next thing I do? CS is for sale.

What I want to express is that the CS is RAW very RAW and I would prefer owning 2 rather than 1 ferrari.

    Hope it helps,
    David

Is that 150K as in $150K, which means EUR 111K? That would make it cheap indeed, but if you factor in shipping and import taxes you would very likely go beyond EUR 120K, at which point there are many to choose from in Europe.

BTW - are Japanese Ferraris LHD or RHD?

Some owners call the CS "raw" but it is nothing like a real race car. Yes, compared to any other production vehicle it is slightly more noisy (a good thing) and stiffly sprung (not much more stiff than a 1987 Porsche 930 or Miata though).

I won't prognosticate about comparative depreciation rates for two reasons; I'll be wrong and I don't care.

Wow, I'm sorry to hear you experienced back pain. But I have exactly the opposite experience. I find the CS seats to be sublime, firm, even great for long drives. I've done three 1500 mile road trips in my CS and never did my body complain.

One local owner traded his 360CS in for a 430 and commented that the CS was slightly irritating to him because of the noise and lack of insulation. Apparently the sticky tires pick up many rocks and throw them against the wheel well which he would hear as he drove along.
