Is it possible to get different colors, other than silver, with the Historical Racing Livery? It doesn't work in the configurator...
No. Exterior color and striping comes only one way with historical livery. What you see is what you get. Race Livery has too many variables in color to mention.
1495 kg is GTO's dry weight, not kerb weight. GTB's dry weight should be 1580 kg, so it makes 85 kg difference... Kerb weight: GTO 1605 kg, GTB 1690 kg
Compare above weight with the weight provided on the Ferrari website. Weight is stated for European market version with the manual gearbox: 3722 lb. kerb weight My guess is the F1 box is a tad heavier, cheers
GT1 no ? Driver championship FIA GT1 2003-2004-2005 Ferrari GTS Maranello 2006-2007-2008-2009 Maserati MC12 (Developed by FERRARI on F140 Enzo project basis) That car is 100% Ferrari but named maserati for marketing. And about Le Mans, Aston martin or Corvette raced with factory teams (not allowed in FIA GT). That's partially explain the only 2003 GT1 edition 550 Maranello victory. Cheers Luque
Lets move on from the if this car should be called GTO, lets be honest the world today is not the same as it wasin 1984 when the 288 was launched and we may as well be light years away from what the world was in 1962 when the 250 was launched. I think what Ferrari has achieved within the scope of various laws is exceptional, the car sounds amazing, the lower weight and shorter gear ratios will give awesome acceleration and the chassic dynamics should create a very capably track car. It appears the styling is being called conservative but take two random people and show them a 308 and then show them a 288 and chances are they wont say "oh wow thats a different car" Me, I wait in anticiptation to see one of these cars in the metal.
Could dip it in gold (and someone might) and it won't be as disco as an Enzo. Might be its own kind of cool if it resets the ACR's 'ring mark, though ...
just finishing to read the following FIA GT1 worldchampionship for 2010 and 2011(http://www.phauto.biz/im/regulations1_2010.pdf) and knowing that corvette zo6, aston martin dbr9, maserati mc12, salen s7 and s7 turbo as well as ford gt, lamborghini murcielago svr and nissan gtr would be the cars engaged this year and probably next year to compete (after several test and rules to make all such cars more or less equal during the races), why a 599 gto would not be competitive also just to check if ferrari is still able to make a nice pure gt!? as far as I know the gto should not be the only v12 on the grid?
have a look on this web site, http://gt1world.com/, I should be pleased to see a got running after such cars!
Your right, the SC430 did win, but its only really a SC430 in name. As apart from styling cues, nothing mechanical is carried over from the Road car. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_VTQlfiizooc/SYMB3lsmVHI/AAAAAAAAAd8/7Jx0Z3PCFrA/s320/Petronas_Toms_01.JPG http://jonsibal.com/bpimages/TTPetroSC_3.jpg http://yeinjee.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/12/malaysia-super-gt-094.jpg Lexus are preparing an LFA for GT500 http://www.zerotohundred.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/Super-GT-Lexus-LFA-GT500-600x374.jpg Regulations in GT500 are considerably looser than most GT classifications, and teams are free to change engines with other models made by the manufacturer, change the alignment of the engine, or add forced-induction systems to models which do not normally have it. The chassis may also be heavily modified, with Carbon tubs and lightweight tube-frame being allowed forward and back of the main cockpit, although the car must have an overall look similar to its road-going variant. The rationale for this was to allow manufacturers to field competitive cars without having to spend large amounts of money for homologation versions of the race car's road car counterparts. Although rules a keep changing recent years, GT500 cars are known having a notable advantage over the FIA GT1, Le Mans and DTM cars, especially in terms of aerodynamics, and weight distribution. Due to the disadvantages, only 4 FIA GT1 cars (The McLaren F1 GTR, Ferrari 550, Lamborghini Murcielago, Aston Martin DBR9) have entered the Super GT series officially, and none of them where able to clinch a win or a podium. The Super GT association recently announced they will start to unite their GT500 regulations with the DTM ( German Touring Car) regulations from 2012 season, and they are expected to fully unite both regulation in year 2015.

I think due to the number of possibilities there will be a lot of so to say different GTO's around. I don't think I'd like them all.

Love the car but the wheels look way too domestic for my liking... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
LOVE the white/blue!!! But in lieu of SF Shields they should have NART badges! LOL! Thanks for posting the pics!!
I did not realize these were real, as today less than 3 hours ago I was speaking with a dealer in the midwest. The salesmane said I am on some sort of a list but there were plenty of undecided issues. He went on to say that it may not even be called a GTO - oh boy!
Thanks alot for the pics, really enjoyed them! Definitely post more if you have any!! Must have been a great night? Let us know how it went in detail, if/when you have time. Grazie! Ciao! Mark
