I love Ferrari. That the mystique is a big part of it, I can not deny. I love it all. I'm a little behind the times. I don't care. I find the Ferrari that fits me easily.

Yes, I'll be looking at the used cars again. And I can't wait !

In reality, I'm feeling that the standard 599 may be my pick. I like GTs. Who doesn't? :)

Can somebody confirm if these rims are the BBS FI ?

BBS will only make them for Porsche, Ferrari and BMW M3 and they are lighter than most carbon and magnesium wheels on the market.. If not lighter than all of them.

    EDIT:

Yes - The guy has been selling Ferrari's at the dealer for quite some time.

I got the impression from him that Ferrari has a much easier time outside of the US with everything. He went on to say they have more control of their dealers and customer relations are a lot stronger.

If the factory decides to pull the GTO name. I will pull my order and I don't think I will necessarily be alone.

They don't look to be the same. the GTO wheel has a 'flatter' hub, whereas the other pic, the main spoke is raised all the way until it meets the center cap, making it look longer. I love that wheel... maybe a variation of the same wheel?

Possible.Maybe ferrari requested a slightly different design to be sure to have their "own" wheels

This design has been used amongst several manufacturers. And I'm sure Ferrari selected this style for a reason beyond looks.

Yeah - which is why my first response was - oh boy!

I wonder how many GTO's will be produced, I find it hard to believe they hault at 599 if demand is far greater. Are there numbers associated like the Sessenta?

Its my understanding that each GTO will be individually numbered 1 thru 599.

No, I don't see a Viper or anything else, even in photos. In the flesh nothing else would enter my mind. Viper's look like cartoon cars compared to this.

I just read through this thread.

To be honest I have some mixed feelings about this. My personal opinion is that they should have reserved the GTO badge for the Enzo successor, not an extension of an already established model. Yeah, yeah, maybe they made some body changes, but it isn't enough in my opinion to really separate a "normal" 599 and a 599 GTO. Yes, the 288GTO was based on the 308, but you could definitely tell the two apart - there were 250 GTO styling cues on the 288 GTO. I dont see them unless I am really missing anything other than the "heritage" paint scheme.

The GTO is some hallowed ground to be walking on in either the 250 or 288 configuration. This car just does not do it for me like either of those cars do.

    Just my humble opinion...

I believe there is one such GTO so finished; it has not been shown around as openly as the other configurations. I am sure that as more owners start flocking to the Atelier to spec their cars, more sightings of the beast will be reported.

Looks really light in it´s design.
