I would like to announce that myself and my company Sportscar Protection will no longer be working with Zymol Europe as an "Authorised Zymol Detailer"

My ethos has always been to use the best products available on the cars that i consider it a privelidge to be asked to detail , so from that point nothing will change , I'll still keep detailing cars to the highest possible standard and will continue to finish every car we do with the exclusive Zymol Royale.

I would like to thank all F.Chat members who have supported me over the last few years and helped me to establish myself and look forward to detailing your cars again in the future.

My web address is :- www.sportscarprotection.com
    email :- [email protected]
Although my website will be down for a few days whilst I make some changes , I can be contacted on 07970 713062
    Many thanks
    Dave Bowerman

Nothing really to report mate , theres been no big fall out or anything.

Zymol europe have introduced yearly fees to be a licensed detailer and with the investment I put into advertising etc last year and my plans to expand this year , it just wasn't a viable option to stay with them.
I feel proud to have worked along side zymol over the last 7 years , helping them to build their reputation as world leaders in car waxes etc but I had to make a business decision , it was either pay the fees and stay where I am for a year or two or use the funds to advance my business, so i chose the latter.

I still have a good relationship with Zymol and hope that that continues .
I suppose its no different to a ferrari technician leaving and setting up as an indie , thats all I'm doing :)

    Hi Tony ,
I'm a bit reluctant for this to turn into a Zymol bashing thread , i have my reasons for not signing up to the licensed programme and I'm sure the others leaving have their's.

I'm still going to use Zymol royale when finishing my clients cars , after all I still believe that there is nothing around that can touch it , and that certainly means no disrespect to swissvax or any other brand , if you guys came up with a product that was better than Royale I'd use it , i'd have to because my client base will always dictate that plus I owe it to them to use the best products.
But as I said , at the moment , nothing comes close
    Dave

I'm led to beleive the license fee was introduced by Zymol Inc and not Zymol Europe. This was a decision by Chuck Bennett who owns the company. His loss I suppose.

well done for high jacking dave`s post

also i would like to point out that dave does paintwork corection to correct any defects and that is why he has a paint gauge so he know`s the thickness

after that the wax goes on

i think the reply`s that has no refrence to this post should be deleted

Perhaps you should get back in your box!
I was simply replying to the previous posts not hijacking anything.

As a pro detailer and i have said this before many times , its important for me to always use the best products available.
At the moment we use Menzerna products when correcting paint, these contain aluminium oxide instead of the different grades of grit that are used in the standard industry products.
The aluminium oxide breaks itself down as you use it , so when you have polished the deep swirls and imperfections out , all you are left with is the lubrication in the compound and a perfect finish.

I had a demonstration with the G-technic products and on the face of what i saw and how it was explained to me as being non abrasive , i decided to have go go with it.

The fact that it is non abrasive was a very big plus for me as i always try and remove the least amount of paint as possible when correcting swirls , scratches etc and when you consider the likes of some of the cars I detail i.e F40's where there is a minimal amount of paint on them in the first place , it more than made sense to have a go with it

However , i found that although this system was good for deep scratch correction , overall it does leave holograms in the paint ,so i had to follow it up with a menzerna product to finish , whether that's was down to me not adjusting my technique properly or down to the product itself i'm not sure.
But after having many conversations with the uk supplier , they are now sending me out a new version to try out , i should be getting it this week.
So I look forward to putting it through its paces and if its as good as the manufacturers make out , I will no doubt use it

With all due respect to Zertec , I think he may be getting a little confused with his information. Zymol waxes wont ever fill in swirl marks , before you use a zymol wax , you use HD cleanse , this is what corrects the swirls , partly by removing dead paint and surface contaminents ,partly by filling some of them in.
You will never get a perfect swirl free finish unless you correct the paint first .
This is why paint correction has become a vital part of our detailing process.

I do see elite's point of view as far as hijacking this thread is concerned , this thread is about letting my F-chat clients here in the uk know that i'm no longer an "authorised zymol detailer" and that I now work on an independant basis.
Lets keep it that way , if anyone has products new products / tecniques that they want to share with people , I will always listen to new ideas and will always try them out but put them into a new thread please.
