RIP. A great collector.
I have other Porsche pics of the 935 and 962, but was able to find these Enzo pics from the Porsche Rennsport Reunion at Daytona in 2004. s/n132323 Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
nice vid/article from SunSentinel (thanx to fchatter 'Gmaccormack') Swap Shop entrepreneur Preston Henn dies at 86 - Sun Sentinel
I only got to spend time with Preston on a few occasions, including at his office and his motorhome at an event. He was extremely gracious, not to mention entertaining. He was truly a legend and hopefully he's noted for the great things he's done. As was mentioned: here's someone who really lived. RIP.
Yes, his former Daytona group 4 competition that he raced in period and that his daughter Bonnie raced as well as Miss Budweiser. Before being with this livery it was showing the Swap shop logo on the front lower part.
Haha. Great guy. I spent time with in at the 275 tour in 2004 in Florence with Ferrrari. Awesome, humble guy who definitely know how to have fun. His car was the highlight of the tour. Unfortunately, it was so highly tuned it hardly ran, so he was forced to spend most of the time drinking while waiting for the repair wagon. I guess we even shared women in a way since the Hawaiian tropic model in the front was my girlfriend in 1987.
6885 at the 2004 275 Tour, from inside my own car,,driving,,with a lot of noise ,,from his car! And the Daytona Comp when Preston owned and raced it, and his daughter raced it too, for many years in different configurations! [credit Christian Huet and David Kutz]. I was always amazed that he showcased all or a lot of his Ferraris at the Swap Shop flea market. I loved going there and just looking at them. One day while I was setting up there as a vendor this man came strolling by my booth with two different colored socks on. Had no idea it was him. Later that day I saw the same man get into what I think was a 599 GTO. I put two and two together and realized it was him. Later I saw him at Amelia with his yellow 275 that I'd seen on display at the Swap Shop. Guy seemed comfortable being himself in any environment I guess. RIP
