    These also are cool.

Is that a track that has the 4x4 posts sticking out of the ground or were these guys racing on the roads?

I saw at least one name I recognized, John Surtees; he still remains the only person to win World Championships on two and four wheels.

They're from old public road tracks and early circuits, Orange, Mt Druit Lowood and Bathurst.
Check out the McKay Aston-Martin pic on page #27. That's the famous first corner at Bathurst, Hell corner, when it was just a public road and the fence kept the farmer's cattle in.

Keep looking and you'll find Bruce McClaren, Frank Gardner, GT40 Le Mans, Jack Brabham F1 champ, Stan Jones - Allan Jones F1 champ's father, and a bunch of aussie names that did aussie, NZ and UK racing regulars.

Here's some from the Tasmanian area tracks of the time. -

Several aussie and kiwi F-chatters will see relatives and their cars among these pics.

The great driver and enthusiast Arnold Glass is prominent amongst the pictures. Unfortunately Arnold passed away last week.
