I just got this back from the framer. It really turned out nice! I had it triple matted with black, light grey, and dark grey. The frame is hammered steel. They used top quality non glare glass. The print is an old factory publication. I put a bottle of wine next to it to give you a size reference. Image Unavailable, Please Login
It was nicer than I expected. I had no idea adding the triple matte and frame would make it REALLY nice. You should see it in person. It looks like it should be hanging in the hallway of the factory.
a very nice addition to what i'm sure is a growing collection of memorabilia. Dave, your a true enthusiast in the most positive sense. brett
You should come on down Brett. Its cold up there now and the weather is still pretty warm in Houston, going to be near 70 on Christmas. I'll show you my "pieces of wrecked cars" collection. I still have a piece of every (read 6) McLaren that I ever wrecked neatly displayed in my library. Too funny.
Picture is great and the matting and framing is PERFECT for it, very complimentary. I love the one little spot of color, kind of a little "shiner".
brother, you have no idea how bad i'd like to be down there. we've got 3 feet of standing snow, the lion's share of which has been aroung for a month already. the drift's are 6-8 feet. i bought Peter Sweeney'y Mondial cab a couple of weeks ago and will likely have to wait 5 months to take it out of the driveway. bummer. i like the idea of Texas more and more and i'll take you up on that one day.
<laughing> You BASTARD! I called him the day after you bought it. My exact words, "Hey Peter I guess I've been waiting long enough so go ahead and send that cab." He laughed and told me he'd sold it the night before.
<still laughing> Don't know why I called you a bastard. I should probably send you a case of wine as a token of my appreciation. You probably saved me thousands of dollars in maintenance, majors, etc. I feel for you, I lived in Chicago and upstate NY most of my life. Threw my snow shovel away when I moved here. Don't miss it a bit. I do miss the changing leaves, but the salt, the ice, the snow, the cold, uh no thanks you can keep those. all you have to do is drop me a note with your flight times. I'll pick you up. Dinner at my favorite steak joint is on me and would be my pleasure. Do me a favor? Before you get on the plane stop in the shop at the Toronto airport and pick me up a box of Bristols. They're little dark chocolate candies filled with harveys bristol creme. Really yummy and its illegal to sell them here in the states. Toronto is the closest place I know to buy them.
well...there are a couple of little issues but overall i really, really dig the car. it is totally wild looking, very stunning in person and i only realized once it arrived how few of them i'd ever actually laid eyes on. i opted for the 4-valve over the 3.2 because i absloutely prefer the look and it is a much, much rarer car, especially up here. it is in great overall shape and the exhaust is as ferocious as described, but as i mentioned, i haven't had it out of first gear yet. i'm trying to track down a very strange vacuum/bearing noise and none of the windows are working, so yeah, i've already saved you a bundle... : )...but it was cheap, cheap, cheap for what i got. a great original condition, euro, red on tan, 4-valve convertible Ferrari for under 21.5k. and i actaully was on the plus side where exchange was concerned. thanks so much for the invite and the hunt is on for the Bristols. i'll look this weekend and get them off to you asap. i'm gonna blast the GT4 this weekend in the shop. i added the blasting gear and a 12x20 booth so... let the good times roll. i want to prime it before the new year. all the best, brett p.s. the leaves don't change ?...aw, that's terrible. hmph!
yep you STOLE it. I was planning on stealing it, but alas I was dragging my feet. You didn't wait, you deserved it. Well bought, congrats!
