Looking at a 2000 550 coupe 29,000 miles in good condition. Assuming all maintenance is current what's the price range? Thanks for the help.

If it's a driver's car mid $60s. If it's a prestine example (i.e. Barchetta wheels, leather rear shelf and spare tire kit) low to mid $70s.

Depends on the level of "sorting" the car has had.

There are a number of charming little issues that are indigenous to the 550, and if these aren't "sorted" you can run up quite a bill after the sale.

If they are sorted, then you should have quite a nice car, since it would indicate the PO has taken these things into account, rather than simply following the "usual" maintenance plan.

So for a nonsorted car, of that year & mileage, you probably shouldn't pay much over $70K, however if it's well sorted, you could probably go up to the high 70's or even low 80's.

Subject to an exhaustive PPI, of course.....:)

While I agree with most of your pricing, but the car the OP is looking at has 29,000 miles...for some reason it seems 550 that has over 25,000 miles gets that "high mileage discount" - really silly as the 550 is one of the best built Ferraris out there and a few members on here even use it as a daily.

When I was selling my 550, a fellow fchatter wanted me to discount it because it had the Barchetta wheels and he didn't like them!

Take my word for it, if it doesn't come with recent receipts showing that a few of the ecu's have been replaced, you will probably be replacing them. And those bits are pricey and getting pricier.

    Best, Paul

I have forgotten all the items, but I can start the list:
    - verify recent major service with timing belt change (in last 3 years).
    - replace the 550 motor mounts with the improved 575 mounts.
    - make sure wires going to adjustable front shocks are not twisted around.
    - replace the cooling hoses with the improved ones, especially the long hose under the plenum.
    - check condition of spark plug wires, they are $1000 per side.
    - check for bubbles and shrinkage of dash leather, especially on the edge under the windshield.
    - check every interior switch and panel for sticky feel to it.
    - check for scratches on side of lower drivers seat from pulling up parking brake.
    - make sure the alloy wheels are not the original recalled ones.
    - check for scrapes on bottom of car or front spoiler.
    - check for curb rash on the alloy wheels.
    - check the closure of the doors and windows against their rubber seals.
    - check the cognition and working function of the sun visors.
    - verify it comes with 2 keys, 2 black fobs, and 1 red key fob.
    - check for toolkit, manuals, and car cover.

    - check for clunk in rear which may require mod to upper shock mounts
    - check to make sure gas gauge is functioning properly
