Here is the auction http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4527968167&category=6212&sspagename=WDVW I'm looking for a decent driver Ferrari and was wondering about what this 348 should sell for. It looks to me like the paint is in pretty bad shape and the interior is a little dirty.
Jayson, MY90: well maintained w/records and up to date service with relatively low miles are fetching 49k to 55k ish from what I've seen. I've been looking for a 348 for about 3 months now and that is what Im coming across. You need to find out in detail what the story is on that car first.
That car look beat! Move on.... It also appears to be missing the tool kit, tire inflator and targa top cover. No mention of owner's manual and leather pouch....
Taken from ad: "...The 30,000 mile service was completed in 2004 at a cost of $15,000" - I hope they threw in a free car wash at that price.
Get a "B".....348 was the first unibody Ferrari....there's a HOT one at Ron Tonkin.....red/red w/ 17K miles..........
That's a Dealer Service $$$$ for EVERYTHING that should be done at 30K... That's why I'd want to slip into one around 17K miles, instead! Ha!
I'd say that black TS is a pimp ride - notice how the hit to the front right of the bumper - is not shown in the close ups - many many 348s have hits from those close scraping bompers and they can range in damage from a small visual scrape to a major non or just visible crack under the bumper.
Jayson, Car does look that bad but a few miles. I live close to Tonkin GT in Portland, Or. That red 348B is unbelievable! Just saw it again at Enzo B-Day party Friday night. I keep second guessing myself on if should have bought it rather than my tb? I really wanted the Targa top though. Now that I keep seeing it, I wonder if maybe I shouldn't have? It is the best example of a 348 I have ever seen, for any model or year. Talk to Greg out there, great guy, you can not go wrong with that car. Black and red interior looks hot and in brand new condition, dealer maintained, fresh service and clutch, perfect exterior, ect ect. More dough than $42k but well spent my 2 cents, Mike
Thanks for the replys. I spoke with the owner today he said he sold the car for $42K. I think it was a little rougher than I wanted anyway. John Lamour if you get a chance email me with your car particulars I'm shopping.
I would be glad you did not get that car from Scotti's. I saw many pics of it on various sites and it looked like it was sitting around outside for a long time. Keep looking on many sources (this site included). I just bought an 89 348ts for $47k with 22k miles and all major service just done. I found it for sale 30 miles from home on the site cars.com. That site pulls together a database that includes all newspaper ads nationwide (info you would not get from traderonline / classiccartraderonline / dupont / ebay...) Keep loking, and you will be happier with your purchase afterwards. BT
...it's very useful resource, and lets you sort listings by price, miles, year - even distance from your ZIP code. <shameless plug> Of course, you might like to take a look at my 348ts which is for sale right now. It's listed at cars.com, but you can see photos here: http://www.farpoint.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=6 </shameless plug>...
That car in the Farpoint gallery looks really clean. I think I would recommend buying from an individual seller that has a good reputation from the FCA website or Fchat. I just detailed the 348 for the first time and found about five really minor paint imperfections that you may avoid on a newer model. If you look at the many for sale at non-exotic dealers, most are very high mileage or poorly maintained. Definitely keep away from those. Buy the best vehicle you can afford after you decide on the model. BT
