I have a friend with a 1995 F355 that he wants to sell. It has 26,000 miles. He had the 30,000 service done in 2004 and they also checked the valve guides and changed the tensioners. It does not burn oil and does not leak.

It's never been hit, he's the third owner. He has all of the books and records. The car is black/black 6-speed with the Challenge grill.

He installed an exhaust of some type with test pipes. He has the stock exhaust that will go with the car. The headers have not been replaced but they do not leak; yet.

The black paint shows wear in the front from stones, but it'a really not that bad. The console rubber looks like crap and the dash has about 1" of shrinkage.

Good tires and the wheels are clean with no curb rash. The seats are perfect. The carpets look nice.

The A/C is not working. He put it on a lift and thinks the A/C clutch is bad. Looks like I can do that job myself or have someone do it for under $1,500 and he'll pay for this. So don't deduct for this problem in your pricing.

So what's it worth? If cource a PPI will be done, but without wasting his time, what should the price be?

    Thanks in advance,

    - Bill

The manifolds have a high chance of going out sooner or later if they haven't been replaced. Not saying they will for sure, but the chance is very high. I would pay $66k TOPS assuming the car checked out. I would try for around $62-63k to justify new manifolds when the time comes

BTW my price is based on a clean PPI.

Agree with the earlier comments. Black is also a hard color for resale. Private party pricing is $63 - $65k. Dealers will probably give you <$55K as described.

Thanks Guys, I bought it. So now I'm a Ferrari owner. The PPI looks good and I got the car for less than you all suggested, so I think I'll be OK.

Now the wait to get the car in a week is going to kill me.

    Will do. I can't wait.

I have owned a web site domain for over 5 years because I knew one day I would have a 355. F355.com is mine, now I can use it to post pics.

Thanks, I'm sure you will be hearing from me. I need to get the A/C fixed and I'm sure the headers will need replaced in the future.

I hear you offer great products.

I hope your headers don't fail, but worst case scenario, I'll always be here! Good luck in getting the A/C fixed.

BTW that's awesome that you have the domain name "f355.com" Did Ferrari send you any letters threatening to sue? LOL :p

(also meant to spell "forweard" forward, sorry for the typo.)

Not yet. I have owned it for 5 years and since I don't sell cars with the name I'm not breaking any copyrights or trademarks. Now, if I use it for commercial use to sell cars or parts, I may get that letter. But since I have no plans for that, it won't be an issue.

I've had offers to buy F355.com but no one has offered "enough". 4 letter domains are difficult to get and sell for big bucks if the 4 letters mean something. So until someone pays me $5,000 or more, I'll just use it for hosting the pictures of my new F355!

Congratulations. I purchased a black/tan 95 F355 Spyder about three months ago with about 29K on the odometer. Dealing with the manifolds right now. Car had its 30K about 800 miles ago, new guides, etc., new tires and only minor rock dings on the hood that were touched up. Just put a new alternator in. Other then some "issues" I am dealing with the seller on, love the F355 and I agree, near the top of the list in terms of modern Ferraris to own. I am hoping that I am getting the shop time out of the way early on during ownership during the rainy season. Not much driving yet.

Other people have said the same thing. Why is the 1995 the best year to own? It makes no sense, you would think the first year is teh worst year.

stock exhaust louder and deeper in 1995 than newer....Ferrari detuned the newer ones for emissions and sound reasons....I don't mean the stock sounds better than the aftermarket ones!!!
