458 charity auction car sold in California for $530k (see other thread about it). Who cares about sticker, very few of us will ever have the opportunity to purchase at that price.

    So much for this recession.....

I'm not sure prices at auction, with proceeds going to charity, tell us much about the recession or potential premiums over MSRP. After all, the first Corvette ZR1 sold at a charity auction for $1,000,000.00 in January 2008.

Very True. A random Billionaire bidding on a charity car does not spell out the state of the economy.

I'm guessing that the lifting system has to be ordered in conjunction with AFS since the adaptive lights will auto adjust if the suspension is in the raised position so as not to blind oncomming traffic.

    Ditto.

The 458 charity auction in Fla. sold for a LOT less.

Anyone who pays over msrp. for one is throwing money into the East River.

Jim, maybe we shouldn't discourage these folks. The Ferrari dealers REALLY need the additional dough.

Yes, both have to be ordered together. The information(in fine print) is in the documents Ferrari sent to the dealers.

It's the Lambo dealers who really need bailing out.

They're dropping like flies but I take your point.

    Yes, these :)

LOGO Scuderia Ferrari Shields on Fenders
    CALY Giallo Modena Brake Calipers
    RMSV 20" Forged Sport Rims
SHF1 Leather Upholstery for Rear Shelf
    RUF1 Leather Headliner
    DAY1 Daytona Style Seats
STP1 Contrasting Straps for Daytona Seats
    STC2 Contrasting Special Stitching
    ELEC Electric Seats
    EXT1 Handy Fire Extiguisher
    PARK Rear Parking Sensors
    IPOD iPod Installation
    NAVC Satellite Navigation System

I'm particularly curious whether the NAV is standard or a mandatory option in the US, the price of sport seats and whether they will be available at launch and how much the front lift + adaptive headlights cost together (since you can't have one without the other)...

This is from Ferrari, the company, not dealers. Looks like Ferrari donated a few of the first production 458's for charity, one I know for sure in the US, one looks like in the EU.

I have heard rumors that dealers are laying off mechanics. This is not a good sign when the shop is the major profit center for most dealerships

The complaint I hear from mechanics is that the warranty book time is not realistic and that they wind up working for free. Strange days.

I'll do the best I can.
NAV is neither standard nor mandatory from what I've been told. NAVC is $3305
Sport Seats (Racing Seats? RSCH) $7555. They should be available after September.
    Front lift ELEV $4407 plus AFS1 $1889.

Let me know if you need any others.

How about a price on the RMSV 20" forged sport rims (5509) that 9 out of 10 buyers seem to be ordering? Thanks!

Fair enough. Every business including Ferrari dealerships should exist to delight customers and make a profit as a result.

Interesting comment re mechanics. I can understand the warranty book time issue - but are the new cars also seeing less shop time as well? If they are, then less mechanics seems logical.

Back on topic - the 458 basic price seems quite reasonable to me, but wow - those options are ridiculously pricey.
