I’m looking for a lightly used 17 Cali T. There’s plenty around but prices not coming down much ahead of the Porto. Any thoughts on discount to sticker to look for ?

It is my opinion that the Cali t will see the least depreciation BEFORE the release of the Portofino, especially newer cars. AFTER the Portofino's are delivered id expect to see some softening on the newer cars. It appears that 2015 models have already started to come down a bit as I have seen some sub 150k but these prices could jump back come spring/summer. I think the cars that will be MOST affected before the Portofino release will be the 2012 down. I expect thenewer stuff will hold a premium especially 17 and 18 models since they will have most of the warranty left. again its just ,my opinion. I think if you were after a 15 or 16 you might get a better deal.

2017's still a hard sell at $180-200k. I know you see asking prices higher than that, but that's not market. We had ours for sale 3+ months less than 1,000 miles with HS and good options no sale $200k. Most dealers just offered $175k trade, so add typical 10% profit to that for what you should be able to get one for.

We sold ours a couple of weeks ago , 4 or 5 months before the expected arrival of our Lusso T. Simply because of the impending arrival of the Portofino which I'm sure will effect values of Cali Ts with more cars on the market. I would have like to have kept it longer and enjoyed a few spring days but one thing is for sure , the gap between sale price and the cost of the new car wasn't going to get smaller.
Good news for buyers though, to whom i would recommend both hard negotiation and waiting for the ideal colour/spec combination to come up.
    A lovely car.

I may get back into one. Best all around Ferrari you can drive it hard top, convertible, put kids in back seat, take it to dinner, take it to track, and most people (including Ferrari people) have to look twice to tell difference from F12.

I really couldn’t (respectfully) disagree with your analysis more.

Portofino will stress the Cali T prices much more and have zero to no impact on NA Cali prices. Just like GTC4Lusso had no impact on 612 prices and stressed FF resale values. And just like the 456 prices hardly changed when the FF was first released. I also didn’t noticed 360 Modena (especially the 6-speed) were impacted by the arrival of the 458. That honor went to the F430. F430 prices didn’t tank and held steady when the 488 came out. The same will be true for the Portofino. And just like the air-cooled Porsches of yesteryear, being a NA Ferrari will offer the older NA California additional protection from the Portofino. Just like the Flat-4 Boxster/Cayman turbos were wonderful news for the owners of older NA Flat-6 Boxster/Cayman too. Those are seeing much less depreciation than would be normal/expected.

While I'm no expert and my crystal ball might be quite fuzzy I suspect Cali t prices to stay somewhat strong short term since authorized Ferrari dealers would otherwise be stuck with them. I think Ferrari will still sell the Cali t as a placeholder on another vehicle short term.

I also am guessing that the Cali 30 will be insulated more then earlier models because of the 30 more hp and 30 kg weight reduction as less so because they are less prone to DCT issues. I have been suprised to watch early Californias prices dip. And I suspect they will continue that trend. I think the California will trend quite differently then the mid engines cars as it is a unique vehicle. only time will tell.

While I feel confident in my guess I'm quite happy to read and consider others thoughts. If I fact I am wrong and Cali t prices fall significantly it's still good for me as it adds a newer updated car for me to consider. The only thing I have to lose is bragging rights that I doubt I'd ever claim anyways so it's a moot point. Speculation is at best a educated guess and more like a personal opinion. Thanks for tour insight though, it's all information to consider.

this is true, Cali T stressed the Cali 30 prices, but Portofino will just stress the Cali T prices. Cali and Cali 30 prices will continue to ease down, but for overall market reasons and not just the Portofino. The Cali T will fall inline a fair margin above the Cali 30 ($25-40k?) just like every other Ferrari does with its previous model.

ive bought atleast 50 cars in the past 15 years - 90 percent of them had ridiculous asking prices.
calling and having a conversation does wonders.
also cars are often consigned and sellers usually dictate the ask. the dealers need the market to come back and rationalize the asks.

yes, we bought our 2013 Cali 30 for $135k in Fall of 2016 when most asking prices were showing $150k+. It was a nice low mile current warranty car too.

this is why I have been doing my homework regarding how much to negotiate off of ask on these used ferraris. Right now I have several websites set up with 3 searches 1st saved search is 2013-14 Cali 30 second is 2015 to present Cali t and last one is 09 to 12 california. This is also my preferred purchase order assuming the right car come along.

A 15 Cali t wouldn't break my heart at all and if the price was right the interest rate on the portion I finance would be a plus too.

honestly ive seen people agonize over making a decision. analysis paralysis. find the 2 or 3 cars that spark your emotion, pick up the phone and offer 15% off the sticker and see where the conversation goes. every day that passes is a day closer to death without having the car

late model Ferraris now are so unique, so many exterior and interior colors plus 100 options. I think only way to do it is pick your favorite 2-3 exterior colors, model years, and price range. Very hard to narrow it down past that.

I guess I'm fairly lucky then since my must have list is pretty short. I probably need to make a solid decision on color but basically I'm down to the rosso corsa, Grigio silverstone and the silver color( forgive me for any mis spellings and forgetting some of the colors names) but there are 2 colors of blue I seen recently that I liked one a very light color with a tan/black interior and a dark blue with a brown colored interior.

My must haves are that the top half of the dash and the steering wheel leather be black, all electric seats and must have the rear seats (wife's stipulation) my not going to buy ever no way no how's are exterior color of black and any interiors that are red or white. Everything else is kinda how I feel about a certain car when I see it. And the rim options baffle me but aren't a deal breaker since I can buy them after the fact but what's the deal with all the stinking black painted/powder coated rims all of a sudden, on everything.

There are options I like like any of the carbon fiber bits, and colored calipers and tach, magnaride, HS package and even though I have read it's cumbersome the cruise option intrigues me.

I also figure I want to purchase a car that is over 20k miles but less then 40k miles since most gremlins would be worked out. And I only will buy from Ferrari or a dealer that allows PPI and the car has a respectable maintainance history.

So all in all there should be a ton of cars for me when I'm ready to purchase at the end of this year.

Yeah, you'll have plenty to mess with I think and will have an awesome car in the end. I'm a red kind of guy as well, but those grigio silverstone, Grigio Titanio or TDF Blue's might get me swayed. Gorgeous.

Mine is for sale here and if anyone in the US wants to take advantage of your strong dollar I am game but honestly if I get hosed on the ask then I will just drive it another season because it really is a wonderful car! I actually got a great trade price in October that I should have taken but I got greedy thinking I would keep it alongside the Lusso BUT you just get addicted to the build and buy process that I am doing a 488 and if I want to keep my happy wife then I have to restrict it to 2 F cars in the garage.

To be fair, the price comes down every month the car sits but some dealers will not accept it and only change the price every couple of months and then don't reflect the depreciation that has actually occurred. If you owned one and were trying to trade it in, you would find prices are dropping rather more than when you are looking to buy. LOLOL!
