    I know relatively little about Lamborghinis, but am looking at a winged 91 Diablo 2wd, decent condition, service history, about 33,000 km. I stumbled across it when looking at a Testarossa and it fit me slightly better than the TR (I'm 6'4").

    What is the longevity of a Diablo when well maintained? The TR wasn't, when I compare prices, for the cost of fixing the TR the Diablo might be cheaper.

    On ferraribuy, ebay, etc., they seem to be $90-100k. Does that seem in line?

    Any place you can check a VIN number of a non-US spec Diablo on the internet?

    Anything specifc I should look for? Any buyer's guides out there?

    John, price is right for a good clean car.

    My experience with FCar and Lambo so far is that Lambo is cheaper to maintain.. First of all no timing belt change required every 5 years or 30K miles due to use of chains.

    Lambo has a bullet proof engine and trans...taken care of, you can go 150-200K miles.

    What to look for: On early 2WD cars you should have chain tensioner updates and some cars had a head gasket problem. Both are a one-time fix.

    If you're interested in the 96 above, then those things are not any issue and the 96 has power steering, the early cars do not. BTW - I have seen the owner of that car make posts on other sites and he seems to have taken very good care of the car.

    I looked at it more closely today, an iffy repaint. Some other minor issues. Still looks mean as hell.

    From what I hear, the Diablo might be a better bet than a 512TR, testarossa, etc.

    Would like a BB512 or a Countach, but I have only seen on LP400s here (CDN$90k), which is all the money here for a 10,000 km Countach.

    I have a line on another diablo (nicer car, better price) but the vendor is away until September.
