    Guys,

Former colleague of mine is thinking about selling his '17 Rosso Corsa 488 GTB w/ MSRP $295K and currently sits at 750 miles. Dealer offered him $255K on trade on Friday. I'm thinking about buying it outright from him thinking $280K seems like a fair price.

    Any thoughts?

270k sounds more reasonable if the sticker price was $295,
make sure he has options that you actually need, for example, I would have been screwed if I didn't get the suspension lifter because my driveway is pretty steep.
mine was $271k with a sticker of $315k 2017 as well with 3000 miles.

good luck and get it, its an amazing car

If I was looking out for my interests I'd offer 256K, If I was prioritizing my former colleague I'd offer 280k/

Having read that, is it a good idea to buy this expensive toy from a colleague, or former colleague, when there are so many used 488 to choose from in dealers that are great priced too?

    Just food for thought.

Dealer is offering him $255 on a trade.
If it's in state like NY where tax is 8.625% then your offer has to be equal to $276,563 for him to break even with the tax credit he receives.
Otherwise makes no sense for him not to sell back to the dealer.
No way he is taking $256 if it's in a state where tax credit is applied.

Tax savings is not a factor in his case. He has a medical facility out west so runs his toys through his Montana LLC.

Otherwise, yes it doesn't make sense unless he's above the tax savings + dealer trade in price.

What are the other options? Will give you a fair price once I have that.

I ask as there are some options that yield next to nothing on resale.

265 - 270 k is the money. No one else will offer him that and he should be happy. Best , Kirk.

Ps. Sounds like a nice rig.

I wouldn’t pay $280k for the car. I think $265k would be more reasonable. For reference, I picked up my 1,500 mile 2017 488 with a nearly $360k sticker for $290k.

$260K simply because you know him. That car will get nowhere near $280K offers from anyone else.

No, I got mine from Ferrari of Ft Lauderdale. Out of curiosity, why does your friend want to sell such a fantastic machine?

i think that's Harry's old car if it's VIN# ZFF79ALA4H0220480. Looks like it went from Maryland to your Florida dealer before you bought it from them.
