i'm talking about the real challenge cars used exclusively on the race track. i've seen a number of 355 challenge cars, but not a single 348. wondering what they run for, since i may get one as a replacement to my TR.

    thanks guys,
    john

Real challenge car? Are you talking about a '94 factory challenge or any challenge car that was raced. Problem with a 348 challenge car is they kept there street title and alot have been converted back to a street car as mine was. It would be hard to find one still in race form that was not used pretty hard.

There is/was a '89 challenge car for sale in CA I think. Black with red interior with 104K miles. $28K if I remember. There was a '90 for sale a while ago for $45K. I would think a decent track car in good mechanical shape would run mid $30's to mid $40's.

It's tough to find a 348CH race car in good shape- took me quite a while when I was looking a couple of years ago, as many if not most have been rolled into a ball at some point. Mine was only run in about 3 Challenge races and was unwrecked, which is almost unheard of- that's why I bought it. In any event, a friend sold his a few months ago- a very nice car with race history- for $50K. I suspect that's the top of the market for a really good example. There are cars around for substantially less, but they're not comparable to the example mentioned above (nor to mine, #94285, which isn't for sale). Photo of mine attached.

    Ira,

Mine was raced 5 races in '96 and never wrecked (#98399). I agree that's rare that these were not beat up pretty good. I love the paint job and stickers on yours.

Oh, mines not for sale either.

thanks for the info guys. i don't doubt they're hard to find. i've seen that one for 28K, but it's the only one for some time. well i'll keep my eyes peeled, not in a hurry since i have to sell my TR first. but, nonetheless, i would appreciate any leads.

richard, yes i'm looking for a real one that was raced. not the street legal ones.

also, where do these cars come up for sale? never seen one in ferrariads.

Richard: Thanks for the compliment. Yes, mine looks pretty good for a track car, but the seats are badly faded. One of these days I'll get motivated and have them redone.
John: The last good one I saw advertised appeared a few months ago in the FCA Monthly Bulletin classified ads.
