Hello ladies and gentlemen - I've read this maybe a couple times. Is this purely speculative, or is there backing to this? Do values truly decrease during winter? I'm a prospective buyer, and am asking myself whether to wait until Winter to purchase, or if the opportunity cost wouldn't be worth it. Please chime in. Thank you!!
They do go down, especially in snowy climates. However, do remember that the climate is just one market factor. The market may not necessarily go down if there are other factors spurring it to go up. With that said, I'm pretty confident that most 458 prices will soften in the winter. Speciale and Apertas will be more resistant due to their limited supply, causing buyers from warmer climates will still be shopping Speciale's located in snowy climates.
I follow the same thought process. If you have certain specs in mind and you find a car that meets those specs (or wants), you need to be ready to go. If you wait for a particular "season" to buy a car while hoping to get a better deal, then you are going to miss out on cars. Although there are numerous cars on the market, there are very few that have everything you want (unless you truly don't have much of a preference). My .02
Hasn't gone down that much that would make a significant difference in my opinion. I have purchased my exotics around fall.
Just got my first 458, very little wriggle room with the dealer and demand is high for good spec, low mile cars.
There is never much wiggle room for Ferrari at their asking price. You are lucky if your able to get them down 1 to 2 percent! Someone goes to buy and a Ferrari and you try to get them down 10 percent then they are not really trying to buy the car... dreamers!
I was looking at a few 458s towards the end of last year... dealerships contacted me the last week of December and were much more negotiable trying to make a deal before end of year
