Where's a good place to get pricing on a 348? I have a 90 targa with 11k miles, and may want to sell. Not sure, depends on pricing..Thanks

FerrariAds (above) has several 348s for sale. Ferrari Market Letter (subscription) likely has many more. Not sure if Sports Car Market has many 348s listed in the auction section, but you could cruise over to Barnes & Noble or Borders and see if they have a copy.

I think cars.com gives a pretty accurate picture of the general market. You should post an ad on Ferrariads.com (It is free with your membership to this site).

348 market has gotten very soft over the last 10 months. I believe prices have bottomed out. Clean, low mileage 328's are pulling pretty good money now. I think the 348 market will go back up over the next 15 months.

How can one justify spending $53,000.USD on an 86 328 but not want to shell out over $50,000.USD on a 91+ 348 TS, which in turn effects the spiders?

Ive noticed 355's softening, 348's of course. Early model 360 hardtops are close to $100,000.USD +/-. Remember, there are way more 355 and 360's out on this planet then 348's. A good handful of 348's on the market have issues, whether it be poor color combinations, paintwork, excessive wear and tear, interior changes and alterations.

When I sold my 328 I used Cavillino and FML prices, but they were higher then the market value. I surfed the classified ads to see what the market was then priced it. The market value was several thousands less then Cavillino and FML had listed. Market was very slow so I sold it with a dealer consignment for more money. IMO people prefer going through a dealer.

Looks like 55-60k might be a good price for my car based on what I see. Any comments?

Depends on the color combo, condition and when the major service was done.

I dont know. People seem to think that $65,000 for a 1995 Red Spider/ Tan interior in excellent condition with 21,000 miles is robbery.

    Maybe I'm missing something.

Just like F355 prices, you'll get a pretty big sweep between the questionable examples and a pristine one. If I were in the market for a TS in the condition yours is in, anything below $60K would certainly make me double click on the ad, check out the pics, send an e-mail for a VIN etc.

That said, there's that everlasting stigma of "gosh, $60K is almost 355 money" which isn't necessarily fair, but there it is. The right buyer will eventually roll along wanting exactly what you have and would pay a decent price for it, though. It's just a matter of time.

What will you be replacing it with?

I know of one TS (yellow), 22K miles, tubi that went for well south of $40K. But it needed the 30K service. Add $5K for that if done in the last year, $4K if done in last two years, $3K if done in last 3 years, etc.

But if the 30K isn't documented, or was a budget 30K service (w/out tensioner bearings, rollers, w/pump) then the extra premium doesn't apply.

imo market is super soft for 348 regardless of price. my mint 95 spider, black/tan, 17k mi, etc is not even listed with a price in fca newsletter (along with fml) and NOT ONE PERSON has asked about it. to me, that means very few people are shopping 348's.

ps. its a negotiable $60k. will probably just have to trade it into porsche dealer when gt3 arrives in fall.

    Hello:
I had a 91 TB with 18750 miles. Tubi. Needed Major soon. Sold for $44,000. I thought it was a fair deal for all. Red/Red. Sold to fellow Fchatter about 6 weeks ago. Car was in good condition.

If the major service was recent (you mentioned 2500 miles, but if it has been more than 3 years it's technically due, per Ferrari), mid $50K range is where I would start. If it's not, low $50K's or high $40K's.

People shopping for 308/328s are looking for simple, classic Ferraris. It may be a different market. The 348 is arguably the first of the "modern" Ferraris and as such competes for buyers who could be very tempted by a '95 355 in the $60K range.

I tend to ask/get top dollar for my cars, but I take my time selling them. If you're not in a hurry, the right buyer will come along.

(Side story: I remember selling my immaculate '98 Mercedes SLK in 2002, silver/red, 8K miles on it, and getting several calls from the same gentleman pointing out that I was $5K above Kelly Blue Book. I told him that he was right, he could probably find one at KBB if he could take more miles or another color scheme. No hard feelings, etc. He came over, looked at the car, and reminded me of the KBB price. I thanked him and declined. I waited a few weeks, he called again and offered me KBB, figuring the car had sat and I must be desperate. I declined. The next day, a woman called and later stopped by, fell in love with the car -- the red interior was rare -- and bought it for within $500 of my asking price. The gentleman called a few days later to make me an offer between asking and KBB, but the car was gone.)

For what it's worth I paid $52.5K for my car (1990 TS black/tan) in November with recent service and 10.5k miles. I paid to transport it 1500mi, etc., and shopped for the car nationwide over an 18mo period.

Bought it for for 39k and putting some stuff in that is needed. Should be finished around 44.5k. I think I did well? What do you guys think?Have room to sell it at 50-55 and be OK. Thinking of just driving it for a year then sell it..

Unless you got the fuscia / aquamarine color combo you did well. I would (and am) spend some time enjoying the car.
