I just caught the end of the news and saw a story about Prince Charles converting his Aston Martin to run on wine... I think, there was also something mentioned about converting his fleet of Jaguars to be more 'green'.

Anyone else hear anything about this?

PS. I wasn't paying too much attention so I may have completely misheard.

I guess he wanted the Aston to run on the same kind of fuel he does...that said I hope he does not drink the wine used to power the Aston as it must be something like 95% alcohol by volume.

I remember reading that the reason why Ethanol fuel is an 85% mixture instead of 100% is so that people don't get the wrong idea and drink it down to get pissed.

Yeah that is true about the 85%. In Brazil they have 100% made off of sugar caine and kids are known to drink it. But I do not think anyone will be getting drunk of his Aston...I would rather drink Ethanol than English wine...

They don't just pour the wine in the tank. Wine is only around 16% ethanol. Notice the article said the fuel was "made from surplus English wine". The wine is mixed with other fermented things then distilled, then ran through other processes to futher reduce percentage of water.
