    As I was looking at F8’s over the past year+, I noticed all had either a plastic black piece on upper part of the hood near windshield or a carbon fiber option… my hood is all one piece and is Nero paint like the rest of the car…. This seems odd to me as every one I see looks like it has a separate piece there… is this something normal? I’m now wondering if my hood has been painted after the fact…. I’m dumb so be gentle with responses :)

    No cost option code is COLL for the "Bonnet Upper Insert Black Matt". If this option was not selected, the insert was painted to match the car.

    ... and that's actually only matt black painting, it's not a separate part.

    I tend to like it painted to match. I don't know why Ferrari has it either way.

    it makes the hood look shorter and accentuates the front s duct when it is black. IMHO.

    Had mine done body color and then realized I liked the look of it after the fact and had my ppf shop show me the matt or carbon option and ended up wrapping it cf to match the other carbon on the car.
