In your WSM it states that . The faults can be cancelled {apart from fault #no 9} by short circuiting the pin #no 1 of the diagnosis socket connector towards earth for a time between 5 and 10 seconds.If the fault #no 2 ECU inner failure disappears the sensor resets. Whatever this means...lol
I think they are trying to describe a procedure for resetting the light using the SD plug and shorting one of the terminals to ground to do it. I tried what I think that says when my light was on and I couldn't get it to work. I had read on here of someone else who also couldn't make it happen. I've been to the dealer twice on this.
Bob If you look at the photo in the WSM they only use a jumper wire to the Sd plug and ground.not the scanner.

Yes Mike, that is what I tried and I couldn't get it to clear. The yellow cable is the sd plug if you want to try it Ernest.
Where is 5he yellow cable located? Heck, worth a try. With my luck the airbag ecu is dead. That's the most expensive part, right?
Thanks Brian. That answers that. Ernest the cable in question is in the fuse box behind the passenger footwell. But make friends with a tech with a SD and maybe he will clear it for you.
