First the disclaimer: My tech knowledge and skills are limited.

I have an HTC Legend, about four years old. I recently began experiencing a problem when accessing pictures stored in the phone. I can see the pictures, but when I begin to scroll through them they lock up and I get a screen message saying PLEASE INSERT AN SD CARD.

Well, the SD card is inserted but I still get this message. If I remove the card and re-install it I get the same scenario...pics are there, but then I get the message.

My goal is to restore the camera function and preserve the pictures that are on the card.

    All suggestions appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Jack

It's possible the card is just going bad, or the memory in the phone is going bad.

Almost every laptop sold today has a built-in SD card reader.

Yank the SD card out and put it a laptop and see if you still have problems with reading the card.

Give that a shot and report back.

If the Sd card checks fine on on your Laptop, try placing the sd card and rebooting your HTC
.... old MS technique ;-) has worked for me when I had similar issues.

Also check the contacts are not dirty/greasy.
