    Hello,

    This is the window area of a 1980 308 GTSi. The door window sits against a black woven strip. Just beyond it is most likely an original part of the door panel. It's some woven heavy stiff material. It should be black but its faded away. Next to it is the leather inside door panel.

    What product or dye can i use to re-blaken this piece?

    Any tips on procedures, so not to damage the other sections?

    mask it off, and use a Sharpie pen...but in my case I had the stuff replaced...you can order it from T.Rutland's.

    Agree on the careful Sharpie approach..

    Reoriginals stocks it as well in a nylon in lieu of the original cotton weave..but you have to remove glass to access rivets holding it in.

    What year? On my 78 308GTS the felt is attached to the door panel with rivets.

    I just bought 9 ft window scrub from TRutlands - $5/ft.

    Mine window felt looks just like yours but my leather is tan. Your 'tan line' smacks of original tan door leather dyed tan once (hence, the objectional color), the door leather then dyed its present black color.

    My felt looks like that too (1976 GTB) and it's in fairly decent shape. I always thought the backing was supposed to be that color on the original part. I've seen replacement felts which were all black.

    I'm also asking this question on a detailing forum. What is this part/material actually called?

    Window Scrub? It's not actually adjacent to the glass. It is the next layer, like a backing to the leather door panel.

    Is it actually cotton Weave as suggested?

    On the detailing forum, the piece next to the glass was refered to as Mole Hair?

    Boy, we learn WAYYYY to much about our F-Cars:)
