This is probably an issue that affects several Ferrari models. Ferrari model is a Mondial t cab. Both headlights have been immediately rising when the switch is thrown for headlights. Had to rush from Utah to Delaware to solve some computer problems for Honeywell and Dominion Nuclear plus I needed the Ferrari when I arrived. Mondial t purred like a kitten or roared like a lion for the about 2,400 miles - no issues. Last night and this morning the headlights worked fine. Tonight when I turned the lights on, neither headlight raised. However, the lights were on. I tried many times. Right now the Ferrari is parked outside in continuous medium rain. If salt or dirt is causing the problem, the rain should wash it away. Hopefully at first light, the rain will have stopped. Then I will check the fuses and coat everything with WD-40. If this does not solve the issue, where should I go from here? Thanks, Dave
Can't get it up, eh Dave? Just kidding. Well, I first must register my protest against leaving a Ferrari outside in the pouring rain. Cover it or something! The electrical components in these cars are bad enough when dry. Well, in case you did not know, there is a mechanical procedure for raising the headlights. It should be in the owner's manual. As far as tackling the problem, there are more qualified people who can help you. But do a search on this issue because I know it has come up before. My instinct tells me to communicate this to you: it's probably a bad connection somewhere and not that big of a deal. Or it could be a bad switch. I vaguely remember these as the culprits in stories of other Mondial people.
Thanks for all the help - it is appreciated. It was a blown fuse - replaced it and it is now working fine. When I got it, sprayed all the wiring with WD-40. Sprayed it again. For some reason the heater fan is working the best it has been since I got it. I am going to have to make the time to go through the wiring system. There is a manual rising system, but I forgot about it since I scimmed the manuals a year and a half ago. I guess if all else fails, read the directions First mistake since 1999 The Ferrari is a good everyday car even if I do let dogs with muddy paws go for a ride. Have fun, Dave
Gotta use it man, glad you found the problem. Bad grounding can sometimes cause them to act wonky, as well........
